Hi Jennifer, it sounds to me like your baby is just moving around, so I agree with your mom. If it is Braxton Hick Contractions, however, they are just a normal part of pregnancy in which your uterus tightens and prepares for labor. If it's accompanied by pain, especially in your back, call your doctor, but for now I think you're ok.

My 1st baby and im having a boy. Im 34wks and 3days and I've been experiencing the right side of my belly get extremely hard. It amazes me at times when I catch a glimps of it and my stomach is being pulled or stretched on the right side sometimes the middle and left side but mostly on the right. My mom said its the baby positioning himself and finding a comphy spot but I've checked out so many books at the library and it explains it as braxton hicks. This is my 1st baby and my mom had 4 including me. I don't want to argue with her but what she's saying might be an old wives tale. Can anyone relate to me and explain more about b.hicks instead of uterus tightening.. Pretty pls? Thanks!!

Lina, if your doctor is following you closely and isn't alarmed, you are probably in good health. Although many women go into labor earlier with second and third children, that's not always the case. If you don't start labor in the next few days, you should talk to your doctor, who might want to induce you.

i am two days less 40 weeks and its my third baby and i am so scared. This pregnancy was nothing like my other two before everything is different, i had so much pain in the beginning and now in the end i am not even having a cramp doctor says not to worry but there is this fear in me that will not leave , may god be with me in this time , please say a pray for us all .... thanks in advance.

I'm due on the 7th of April 2009 and cant wait to meet my little Gracie lyn! We are so excited and finally feel like we are ready.. so many things to get taken care of it at times seems overwhelming... I'm just so tired too and that makes things difficult

I AM 38 WKS AND 3 DAYS AND THERE IS NOTHING THAT YOU CAN NAME ON MY BODY THAT DOES NOT HURT.ALSO NO MATTER HOW MANY CHILDREN YOU HAVE THE FEELING OF BEING ANXIOUS TO MEET A NEW MEMBER OF THE FAMILY DOES NOT GO AWAY! THIS IS MY THIRD AND I AM JUST AS ANXIOUS!
