Renee, your first step is to take a pregnancy test. Although there are expensive brands, you can get a generic version for as little as $3 and can sometimes find them in dollar stores. If you are pregnant, the is usually state assistance programs like WIC that can assist you with prenatal care.

me and my boyfriend had sex, he wore a condom but i wasnt on any pills, this happened about a month ago and im really scared i might be pregnant, my symptoms are extreme exhaustion, i havent had my period, and about a week after the intercourse my blood was slightly brown and very light. And the biggest problem is i cant go to the doctor i have no car, and no one is willing to take me, also my budget is really tight i can barley afford food. so i havent the slighest clue if im pregnant.

Ash, the chances of you being pregnant now are slim since you had sex at the very beginning of your cycle. Make sure you use another form of birth control while you are on the antibiotic and for the remainder of your cycle this month to prevent pregnancy.

My boyfriend and i had unprotected sex on saturday. i am on the pill but all last week was the pills that let me have my period. my period ended friday night and i start my birth control pills on monday, so today. i had to go to the doctor today because i am sick and he put me on an antibiotic because i have strep throat. so that means that my birth contol is going to get screwed up. is there a chance that i can be pregnant?

BreAnne, you might have had implantation bleeding or ovulation spotting. If your regularly-expected period is late, you should take a pregnancy test. If it's not late yet, you can use the First Response Early Result Pregnancy Test four days before your period is due.

The symptoms could be related to other things, like PMS or the flu, so it's important to use the test as your first step.

What if your having some of the symptoms, but not all of them and your period comes on 2 weeks before it normally should and its light. Is there a chance I could be pregnant?

Alizae, if you have a regular cycle, you're probably not pregnant. Most women ovulate and are able to conceive around day 14 after their periods, so you probably aren't pregnant from sex on day 5. If you're worried, you can take most pregnancy tests on the day your period is due.

Umm i ended my period on the 2nd and i had sexual intercourse one the 7th..is there a possiblity of me being pregnant???

-- Contributed by: Alizae

No name, you can only conceive during your ovulation time, which occurs roughly two weeks after your period. So, no, this is not the time to be trying to conceive. You could try around 14 days after the day your period started.

And if i dont have a regular period...?? I just ended my period..should i start trying to conceive already??

-- Contributed by: no name

No name, the best time to conceive is two weeks after your period. If you have a regular cycle, that's when you will be ovulating and is when you are most likely to conceive.

When do you think is the best time to conceive a baby?? Right after i end my period or wait a couple of days? Am really anxious on having a baby!

Susana, most women won't see any symptoms of pregnancy until at least two weeks after conceiving, and the first sign is usually their missed period. If you have a period and it's at the expected time, you are not pregnant. But, if this bleeding happens earlier than your period is due, it might be implantation bleeding. If you haven't already, you should take a pregnancy test.

Ok..I have all these symptoms... and i had sexual intercorse about a week ago....could i be pregnant?? but i started my period and its light....could i be?

Alison, since your period is late, you should take a pregnancy test. Your period could just be late but you'll need a test for know for sure.

thanks sheela.... but is it normal for your period to be late?

-- Contributed by: alison

ok the last time i came on y cycle was december 21 an you suppose 2 come on every 28 days..... i havent had any symptoms of being pregnant except for my breasts hurting.. i was just wonderin is it a chance i am pregnant or my period is just late

-- Contributed by: alison

Sheela,

It's too early right now for you to take a pregnancy test and get accurate results. In another week or if your period is late, you can test then. The symptoms you mention are some of the early signs of pregnancy, but they could also be a sign of PMS or the flu or a combination of several things. I'm afraid you'll just have to wait until next week to have a better idea of what's going on.

I am suppose to get my period on the 17th of january ( as which i did last month). i am having some symptoms, lately i am feeling exhausted even when i get a full nites sleep, its like i want to sleep all the time, i have been having moodswings, had really bad headaches a couple of days but then they went away. the one that is the most im worried about is i have had just a little dot or 2 or blood in my underwear and i got sick once a couple days ago. i took a pregnancy test about 3 days ago and it came up negetive. what should i do?

Andrea, The symptoms you mention are some of the early signs of pregnancy, but they could also be a sign of PMS or the flu or a combination of several things. Your unusual period may not have been a period at all, maybe it was implantation bleeding. I'd recommend taking another pregnancy test. If it's still negative, take another in about week. If two more weeks go by with all negative results, you're most likely not pregnant.

i was late and had a period but it was really light and lasted for a few days when mine are normally heavy. i have a slight gain of weight and the test i took said negative, but i took it fairly early and it was a cheap test. my breast are tender some, but not all the time. i am getting sick to some smells, but im not sure due to the period.

CM,

there's no way to know what that bleeding was. Maybe it was implantation bleeding or just mid-cycle spotting. Maybe you were ovulating. Who knows? Take the test to put your mind at ease, especially since you don't have any other symptoms.

ok... another question, 2 weeks after my last period, one night i bled but only for a few hours and then it was gone, it wasnt the pink or brown that is described as implantation bleeding, my period is now 1 week late and its getting to me a bit more than it was... also, I dont have any other symptoms of pregnancy other than a very late period, because of my short bleeding is it a higher chance that I am pregnant? I still havent taken a pregnancy test yet because most people say to wait after your period is 2 weeks late so it can pick it up alot better... is that true?

-- Contributed by: CM

CM, there are a lot of things that can affect your period and make it late, especially stress, so it's entirely possible that your period is simply late and that you'll get it soon.

It would be unusualy to conceive the day after your period ended, but it could happen. That's why many woman use birth control all month long. My guess is that you're just late and the symptoms you have are stress-related, but you should really take a pregnancy test to know for sure. You could be stressed about nothing.

Hi Nameless,

many women don't realize that they are pregnant for several weeks, but other women will suspect something about two weeks after they conceive. That's usually when their period will be late and they'll start noticing some of the early signs of pregnancy.
