Sara,

it's not unusual for some of the liquid to leak out, as long as the entire capsule isn't coming out whole. Most of the capsule is absorbed through the tissue in your vagina so the pill does not need to reach all the way up to the uterus.

Most of the time I apply the prometrium capsule in the vagina, next morning it all seemed to have come out, so i am worried that i am not getting any progesterone. Does anyone know how prometrium work in the vagina? Is it by absorption through the vaginal wall, or is the intention that it goes up into the uterus?

Hey ladies! I have had trying times trying to have my first child! I have had 2 misscarriages! 1 at 91/2 weeks and 1 at 5 weeks! After sitting down with my doctor we decided that I would start taking prometrium! I am now 12 weeks and have a very healthy pregnancy and some piece of mind! I am taking vaginal suppositories until 13 weeks and its not the most pleasant thing in the world! But well worth it! Good luck!

Dulce, some of the most common side effects include headache and aches. I suspect that the pain may be related to the pregnancy itself and the expanding of your uterine muscles. But, any kind of pain should be reported to your doctor, so please bring it up at your next visit.

Would Prometrium be the cause of abdominal pain "ovaries" during sexual intercourse? Yet it doesnt hurt all the time. I'll be 10 weeks Friday and the Dr. prescribed it for another 5 weeks.

Jessica, since the pain was bad enough to wake you up, you should talk to your doctor about it. Better safe than sorry

I have been taking prometrium during pregnancy and I woke up last night with a stomach ache and back pain. It has not been a pleasant experience-I hope all this discomfort is worth it. I will be 6 weeks pregnant on friday.
