-- Contributed by: LeeleeHannah, our Teen_Mom article has links to resources that might be able to provide you with support. You might also contact the women's resource center in your area and ask them if they can recommend ways to find assistance.

Unfortunately, LoveToKnow Pregnancy is strictly an informational site. We do not connect adoptive families with birth mothers.

-- Contributed by: DanahindersHi, I am interested in knowing if you have a need for people that are interested in adoption. My husband and I have been married for 13 years and would love to adopt a baby and give a life a wonderful christian home.
Sasha,
hopefully your mom will be understanding and sympathetic, but she may be upset at first. It will probably take her some time to adjust to the idea of you having a baby. Make sure you talk to her at a good time when there are no interruptions and you can focus on your discussion. Please read our FAQ about Teenage Pregnancy for more info about being a teen mom.

-- Contributed by: sashaHi Carla,
it's true that many teen moms are good parents. They are able to love their baby as much as older moms. The difference is that many teen moms aren't able to fully provide for their baby or take care of them as well as older moms.
Many teenagers needs the love, support, and resources of their own parents to help them through school, find a job after high school, or go to college. This need for help, and lack of financial resources, makes it difficult for teens to take care of themselves, much less take care of a child. That's why most adults prefer that teens wait to have babies. Teenagers need to live their own lives first and learn to take care of themselves before adding the stress and needs of a baby.

-- Contributed by: HollySwansoni have a lot of friends that are teen parents and are amazing at looking after there children and love every second. i am also hopeing to be a mother soon even though i am only 14 but im am frightend that the people i love most will turn there backs on me when i need them most. why isit that people think that a teen can not provide a good and happy life for a child? for my point of view a teen parent is just as good as an other parent!

-- Contributed by: chelsea meadowsI think you're right, Jes. Taking care of a baby is a struggle for moms at all ages, but being a teen mom just adds to the stress.
-- Contributed by: HollySwansoni think that it would be really scary and frightening to be a teen mom. No teen is prepared to take care of another no matter how much or little they have have had pratice though babysitting or any other practice or experience.
