Monechia, there are several things that could cause the bleeding, the exam being one of them. Since you are in your third trimester, it might also be a sign of labor beginning. You should let your doctor know that you noticed the bleeding since he or she may want to monitor you closer for other signs of labor.
-- Contributed by: HollySwansonim in my third trimester, and i had a dr.s visit yesterday, when i woke up this morning and used the bathroom and saw blood on the tissue, it stopped after 2 minutes, but when i came home from work and used the bathroom it started again... could this be from my pelvic exam or should i be worried?

If she is not pregnant, she might want to consider using birth control.

the timing of a pregnancy is usually calculated from the date of the last period, which means a woman is two weeks into her pregnancy when she actually conceives. If a woman has an irregular cycle but knows exactly when she ovulated she'll have a better idea of when conception occured, but the 40 weeks of pregnancy began at the last period.
