Lynn,

implantation bleeding usually happens a week or two after ovulation, which in your case should have happened around October 30. The bleeding you had around that time is more likely to have been ovulation spotting.

Since you've missed a few pills, I think the irregular spotting you've had is probably due to your hormone changes. You should talk to your doctor or your pharmacist about whether to take a break from the pills and get back to a normal cycle or just continue taking them.

i am on microgynon 30 but have forgot to take some of my pills over the last few months. I took my normal period on the 15th of october, then on the 31st i got a lighter period that only lasted for 2days (my usual period is heavy and lasts for around 5 0r 6 days) and now i have taken it again on the 8th of november and it is still here, it started off as a brownish colour and is now red. i am due to stop my pill on thurs and due my regular period sat/sun. can u help give me any indication what is wrong? some one suggested it might be implantation bleeding?? plz help asap!

Iheartu4ever,

if you had a period, you're not pregnant. But, if your last period was very light, it's possible that what you had was implantation bleeding. You should take a pregnancy test and follow up with your doctor. Since you also have cancer, you should discuss your symptoms with your physician.

Please help. I ovulated on the 6/3/2009 and had sex on the day of ovulation. I did receive my expected period on 6/17/2009. Is it possible that I am pregnant even though I had an period on 6/17/2009??? I feel small somewhat cramps but no period! Last night there was a lite lite lite pinkish egg white discharge but again no actual period! Please help me ladies!! I have been diagnosed with ovarian cancer and I am beyond scared...I know I should go to the doctor, but I really want to have a baby but physically I may not be able to....please help :-(

Tori G.,

about two weeks after you conceive is the earliest that you can take a pregnancy test and expect accurate results. Since your period can vary by a few days, you should follow up with a second test a few days later if the first test is negative.

My periods have always been irregular by a bout a week. I have been trying to concieve and was wondering when the earliest I would experience symptoms of a pregnancy could be. I have already had one miscarraige and didnt miss my first 2 perriods durring the 4 months i carried. What advice can you give me?

Marie, as I mention on your other posting, you can take a pregnancy test and get accurate results

Hi there.

Last month My period started on the 24th Nov but it was a day and a half and very light. My period was suppose to start the 21st Dec but I am a day late now. I ovulated the 8, 9, 10,11 of Dec And had unprotected sex with my Fianc¨. After my ovulation i started cramping on one side of my lower abdomen then it would be both sides although it would come and go. My breasts are tenderness for almost a week now, fatigued for two weeks , dizziness coming and going. What is the posibility of me being pregnant and when can I test? Thanks Marie

Juliet, all hospitals should offer Anesthesia and Epidurals for childbirth, but you can also look into Lamaze as a way to deal with the pain.

Where i reside birth pains in labor are not subsided with any painkillers, what are my options of havin a pain-reduced labor

Misscarriage, you don't mention how long ago you miscarried, but I'm guessing it was recently if you are still showing HCG levels. Talk to your doctor about when you can start trying to conceive, but usually you will want to wait a cycle or two before trying.

-- Contributed by: HollySwanson

hello, at 6 wks i was told that i misscarried but my blood is still showing levels, is it to early to try again

-- Contributed by: misscarriage

Wanda, yes, some cramping the lower stomach can be common in the early stages of pregnancy. Your body is adjusting and growing to accomodate the pregnancy. If the pain is severe or doesn't go away, call your doctor.

Check out our Earliest Signs of Pregnancy for other symptoms you might notice.

-- Contributed by: HollySwanson

Is lower abdomial pain common in the first few weeks of conception?

-- Contributed by: Wanda

Sketches, are you hoping to use your husband's sperm with your friend's egg? An egg can only be biolgically related to one woman, so technically the baby wouldn't have any relation to you.

Any fertilty clinic would transplant the full embryo, not just an egg. You can talk to your doctor more about how this would all work.

-- Contributed by: HollySwanson

Christy7, it's not uncommon to fell a pulling and stretching pain in your abdomen, after all, those muscles are stretching like never before. If you are really concerned about it, it gets worse, or it happens often, give your doctor a call, but this is probably just one of those things that you'll notice.

-- Contributed by: HollySwanson

Casey, using an online calculator, I also come up with May 2. With your cycle being irregular, it would be impossible for us to determine anything more accurate since we have no way of knowing when you ovulated.

My friend is unable to have children due to a heart complication but my husband isn't so enthused about me being pregnant with someone else's child. Is it possible to have another woman's baby and your own at the same time? Like, her egg put inside me and artificially inseminate myself maybe?

-- Contributed by: Sketches

My last period was on August 5, 2008. According to your due date calculator I am due on May 12, 2009, so I am about 7/8 weeks. On three separate ocassions while turning from my left to right or while stretching I have felt a pulling pain on my lower left side. I have a doctors appt in two weeks. Is that something I need to worry about?

my edd is 1/23/09, my lmp was 4/18/08 but everything says i would of concieved on 5/2/08, i had 2 possible dates to concieve either 4/26/08 or 5/09/08. How do i figure out which is more accurate. (I've never had a regular cycle always been between 14 and 28 days, but every month would vary)

Jan, unfortunately, it is still possible to get pregnant using the withdrawal method, so the guy from June could be the father. To know for sure, you will need to have DNA testing.

-- Contributed by: HollySwanson

i had sex with two guys it was in june the whole month of june we been together and we had sex my last period was in june14. and in july i have sex another guy that was july6. now im pregnant so i made ultrasound in august27 the result of ultrasound im 9weeks pregnant and was formed in june.. is the ultrasound is real and telling the truth so my question is the father of my baby was mr june? but mr june he refuse he said we use withdrawal how come i get pregnant.

Nikki, I calculate that you probably conceived around March 21, give or take 2-3 days in either direction to account for differences in ovulation

-- Contributed by: HollySwanson

My due date is dec. 12..On May 12th my ultra sound told me I was 9 weeks and 2 days pregnant. So does this make my date of conception March 22nd? I usually have a basic regualr period give or take a few days, and I can't remember when i got my last period. I thought it was the 4th of march or maybe the 26th of feb. but I'm so confused nothing seems to really make sence...i have a basic range of date of conception was anywhere between march 9th up until the 25th based on ultra sound and when i may have got my period...does any of this make sence??

Stephanie, this is an easy way for doctors to make sure the baby is moving enough. If you notice less than 10 kicks per hour, you should give your doctor a call

Why do some doctors ask you to keep up with your baby movements in your ninth month?

Angel, with your period on July 20, you will probably ovulate around August 7. That's are your most fertile time. You could get pregnant around the 27 if you have an irregular cycle or ovulated early, but it's unlikely.

hey i had my period the 20 of july but i had sx. on the 27 and 28 could i gotten pregnant.

Help Please Question, as I mention above, I can't really give you a definite answer about this. If you conceived around February 8, it's probably the second guy's, but only a DNA test will tell you for sure.

Mom of 2, if you haven't already, you should take a pregnancy test to find out if you are pregnant. If you are, contact your doctor, who will remove the Mirena. If you are not pregnant but continue to not feel well, you should still give your doctor a call for a checkup.

-- Contributed by: HollySwanson

i was wondering if someone could help me determine when i cncieved unfortunatley i had sex with two guys one on feb 2 which we used a condom the whole time that did not break or tear the other was on feb7 and pretty much every day after that without using protection, my periods usually come every 35 days, i was not sure of lmp so i had dating scan at 7 week showing i concieved around the feb 7 or 8, giving me a due date of oct 31, everything so far seems to be adding up with those dates, i am now 24 weeks, i am very nervous i know it was a huge mistake because guy number 1 is not someone i want a child with.

I have a question I currently have mirena and it has been in almost 2 years. I am having sick problems in the morning and think I might be pregnant what do I do if I am would the baby be okay with this mirena in me. If I am what should I do?

Ayannia, although taking a pregnancy test is a good idea, you should also contact your OB/Gyn. If your are pregnant and have a tubal pregnancy, your doctor will need to treat you. If you are not pregnant, you still might have something else going that needs medical attention.

So go ahead and take a test, but call your doctor too.

I HAD MY TUBES TIED IN OCTOBER 2007 AFTER A C-SECTION WITH MY SON. I AM 25 YRS OLD AND I HAVE SOME OF THE SYMPTOMS DESCRIBED FOR A TUBAL PREGNANCY I HAVE NOT TAKEN A PREGNANCY TEST TO BE SURE. IF I TAKE ONE WHAT SHOULD I DO IF THE TEST COMES BACK POSITIVE OR NEGATIVE? I HAVE NOT HAD A PERIOD FOR 2 MONTHS NOW AND JUST THIS PAST WEEK I HAVE BEEN VERY, VERY TIRED, SPOTTING, NAUSEA, FREQUENT URINATION, CONSTANT PAIN IN THE CENTER AND LEFT SIDE OF MY STOMACH, CRAMPING IN ABDOMINAL AREA.

Real, the only way to know for sure is to have a DNA test. All I can really tell you is that a baby born on December 17 would have likely been conceived around April 5. Based on that, it sounds like your husband may not be the father, but a lot depends on whether the woman's cycle is regular and if she carried for the normal length of time.

Farrah, as long as you are comfortable, there is no reason not to swim. Sunscreen is also safe to use during pregnancy. In fact, some women are more prone to sunburns while they are pregnant, so you may need to take extra precautions to avoid overexposure.

Kapil, during your ninth month, it's common to be uncomfortable, especially when you are trying to sleep. This is pretty normal, but if you are concerned please give your doctor a call for his or her advice.

Jess, with your last period on 10/5, you should have conceived around 10/19. With that, I see your due date being around July 12, but the ultrasound is better able to show if you conceived later than expected. Talk to your doctor about your concerns. Unless there is a concern about paternity, it doesn't really matter when the baby was conceived. As the pregnancy progresses and they get more ultrasound readings, the predicted due date is likely to change several more times.

-- Contributed by: HollySwanson

Melanie, with your last period on February 13, you should have conceived around Febraury 27. But that gives you a due date of November 19. It's hard to figure out exactly when you would have conceived since your period was irregular due to the pill being stopped.

With your doctor's due date of November 27, that puts conception around March 6.

The first day of my last menstrual cycle was 10/5/07. I had a slightly positive ovulation test on 10/17 & 10/18. My husband and I had sex 10/18 and 10/21. I found out I was pregnant 11/20/07. My first ultrasound with my provider on 12/13/07 calculated I was 7 weeks and 4 days. I don't have a regular menstrual cycle. I'm confused because my provider said at my last visit that because my due date is 7/27/08 I most likely conceived in early November 2007 and that doesnt match with the ultrasound. I dont understand because the rest of my ovulation tests came back negative for five consecutive days. When would my date of conception could have been?

-- Contributed by: Jess

My pill period started on 01Feb and I stopped using the pill on 10Feb then my period started again on 13Feb. I'm about 15 weeks pregnant and the docter says my due date is 27Nov, but I really need to know my date of conception. I cheated on my fiance on 10March with my ex. So I'm in desperate need of some help so I can have peace of mind.

Shakira, I assume your pregnancy test was negative, right? Although the symptoms you describe do sound like some of the Early Pregnancy Symptoms, it could also be PMS or hormone changes. If you're concerend, give you doctor a call.

check out our California Maternity Leave article for more specifics about the maternity laws in your state. The article also has links of local employment groups that might be able to help. But, it most cases you are not guarenteed maternity benefits unless you have been with a company for a year.

My wife and I are currently 34 weeks pregnant. She has been working part-time as a x-ray technologist in a family practice clinic here in Bakersfield, California less than a year. Does she qualify for FMLA? Does her employer have to keep a job for her when she returns to work after our baby is born and she is ready to go back to work? Please direct us on disability and the laws of California regarding our situation.

Melissa,

if your period is already late, the test results should be accurate, but it is possible to have false negatives. The symptoms you mention are some of the early signs of pregnancy, but they could also be a sign of PMS or the flu or a combination of several things.

If you ovulated later this month, you could be pregnant but not testing positive yet. Give it a few more days and test again. If you still get negative results and continue to feel this way, give your doctor a call.

My cycle is always 29 days, Im four days alte on my period. I've taken 2 digital pregnancy tests and they both say negative. I am bloated, tired, and I have severe heartburn for the first time in my life. I am also frequently tired and urinating. Could I somehow still be pregant with two negative tests done correctly?

-- Contributed by: Melissa

Amanda, anything is possible though it would be very unusual. Most pregnancy tests are only accurate on the first day your period is late, which is two weeks after ovulation. It's more likely that conception occured earlier than suspected.

-- Contributed by: HollySwanson

Is it possible for a home pregnancy test to test positive four days after intercourse??

Debi, if you have a regular cycle, you conceived around 2/28, making you just over 1 month pregnant at the ultrasound. The yolk sack usually becomes visible around 5 weeks gestation, so don't worry too much yet that it hasn't been seen. If you conceived a little later, that would also explain the missing yolk sack.

Follow up with your doctor, but at this point it's too early to be alarmed.

-- Contributed by: HollySwanson

I had my LMP on 2/14/08. On 3/31 I had a vaginal ultrasound. There was a small gestational sac, but no visible yolk sac. Does this mean my baby has stopped growing? No miscarriage symptoms (I know them since I've had three in the past). I'm a wreck. Thanks

I am a 40 year old woman who has a problem - I have aboyfriend and ashamedly have had an ongoing relationship w/another man for 2 1/2 years - I ovulated on March 15 - I had intercourse w/my boyfriend on 3/10 and the other man on 3/13 - both ejaculated inside me now I believe I am pregnant whose baby do u think it is? Worried,

with your last period on 8/11, you probably conceived around August 25. You're unlikely to have conceived from the one night stand since you still had your period then.

-- Contributed by: HollySwanson

Diamond,

I'm not sure how you can figure out your conception date since you don't have a regular cycle. When you start having ultrasounds, your doctor will give you an estimate of how far along the pregnancy is. You'll need to count back from that to find out when you conceived.

-- Contributed by: HollySwanson

I'm currently 32 wks pregnant. LMP 8/11 and my boyfriend and I we broken up. I had a one night stand on the last day of my period (approx day 6) in which he "pulled out." From July to Aug my cycle was about 30 days but prior to that it was irregular ranging about ever 2 wks. My boyfriend and I get back together and had unprotected sex twice on 8/25 and a few more times that week. What are the odds of getting pregnant from the one night stand? Since my periods were irregular before how do I know when I ovulated? Please help.

-- Contributed by: Worried

I recently found out that i may be pregnant and want to estimate my date of conception. I usually get my period once every TWO months so how would i calculate this?

-- Contributed by: Diamond

Denise,

Even if you normally have regular cycles, stress and other factors can interfere with the duration of your period. However, pregnancy is always a possibility to consider -- especially if you've had unprotected sex within the last month. I would recommend taking a home pregnancy test just as a precaution. If the test is negative and you're still concerned, make an appointment with your healthcare provider to discuss if any medical conditions could be to blame for your irregular cycle.
