Mandy, as long as your doctors are monitoring you closely and keeping an eye on things, don't stress too much. Some bleeding can be normal, but there really isn't anything that can be done to stop bleeding, whether its normal or not. Make sure to follow your doctors recommendations carefully.
-- Contributed by: HollySwansoni bled when i was 7 wks from a syst they say then the next week i bled from bleeding around the placenta should i be worried
-- Contributed by: mandyMad, if you came off the pill at the end of your last cycle, you wouldn't get a period for another week. But, many women experience a late or irregular period for a few months after ending the pill. The bleeding sounds like mid-cycle spotting.
In another week, you can take a pregnancy test. If it's negative, wait a few days and try again.
-- Contributed by: HollySwansonhi i havnt had a full period since coming off the pill 22days ago only little bits here and there ,and i might be pregnant but i bleed for bout 20mins and nothing else for ages what is up do you know because i really am worried and havnt had this before ? mad
-- Contributed by: madAng, you don't mention how long it's been since you took the test. The bleeding might have been from normal stretching of your muscles, but, you're right, it could be a sign of a miscarriage. YOu should contact a doctor for a Blood-based Pregnancy Test and to find out if you are still pregnant.
-- Contributed by: HollySwansonby the way, I have had no other bleeding since then.
-- Contributed by: AngI have not had my period in 7 weeks (which is unusual for me). I just assumed I was pregnant but was unable to take a pregnancy test because of moving. Ironically, right when I went to take the test a couple of days ago, I unexpectedly had bright red blood all over (a huge gush of it in about 1 hour). I went ahead and took the test and it came out positive. I'm afraid that I miscarried though. Any thoughts?
-- Contributed by: AngShanna, if you haven't already gone, you should contact your doctor right away or go to the emergency room. A gush of blood everyday isn't typical and needs to be monitored.
-- Contributed by: HollySwansonI'm somewhere in my first trimester and 3 weeks ago I started spotting and staining. There has been cramping off and on, and almost every day now I will gush blood just once a day, dry the rest. It is blood red, then brown, then gone. I just wish it were over! Got to get in somewhere soon, is this placental abruption?? what will they do for it? I have 3 young children and can't lay in bed... if this quits on it's own, will the baby be formed right with a lack of oxygen!! rrrg

some spotting during pregnancy, especcially in the first few weeks, is fairly common. If you were having an early miscarriage, I think the bleeding would have increased by now. But definitely bring it up at your appointment.

it could just be some normal spotting during pregnancy but it could also be a sign of an miscarriage. Please give your doctor or midwife a call to get checked out. Make sure you let them know about the color and frequency of the blood.
-- Contributed by: HollySwansonHi, I have been having brown/red discharge since the day I missed my period. I am about 7 wks pregnant. Two days ago and also last night I experienced some bleeding but no pain. I have nausea but no vomiting. My first prenatal appointment is in two days. Would you please tell me if I am having a miscarraige? This is my first pregnancy and I am 32 yrs old.
-- Contributed by: christinahi there, I am 18 weeks pregnant and have been having some spotting from last night. After I had been to the toilet I wiped myself and there was some blood, (quite red) since then I have been having spotting (brown/red)I have had this before but the midwife says it was nothing to worry about because it was just some pink spotting. Haven't really felt myself and had bit of pressure pain yesterday. Should I ing hospital? or maybe I am worrying too much. Thanks Caroline

it could just be some normal spotting during pregnancy or maybe some slight tearing from the ultrasound. But, it might also be a sign of an early miscarriage. If there is a steady flow that doesn't seem to be slowing, that's most likely a miscarriage, but just a bit of spotting is normal.
If you haven't already, please call your doctor.

-- Contributed by: Miss GHi Abido, I'm sorry you are going through this scary time. Generally, Sex During Pregnancy is perfectly safe and won't interfere with the baby. The only advice I can give you is to get in touch with an OB/GYN. If you can't get to one, maybe there are local health groups in your area who can coordinate a visit or a phone call to an out-of-area doctor. Good luck, Abido. Please let us know what you find out.
