Mmoore, although some bleeding is common in pregnancy, yours sounds like a more serious case. I'm glad you went to the ER and got treatment early since it could have been much worse. Talk to your doctor about what you can expect from the rest of the pregnancy and what other precautions you should be taking. Good luck and congratulations on the pregnancy!

hi im 7 weeks pregnant last week i had brown spotting and went to emergency as im o neg and needed my injection....had ultrasound and the tech said all was ok babys heart beat was strong, and she could see were the bleed come from....monday i had a hosp appointment to talk about results and was told that there was a tiny bleed in the placenta and i had to rest and hope that it heels if it doesnt i will miscarry or the baby will be ok and just under nourished....it was all a bit seriouse, emotional and scary...if anyone has had this happen or has any info please comment

Kholoud, are you missing work due to bed rest? If so, you may qualify maternity leave or disability benefits. If your doctor feels that there is good reason, you should definitely stay on the bed rest, even though it's hard to do. Ask your doctor if you will need to be on bed rest for the entire pregnancy.

i had placenta abruptio too,since im 8 weeks pregnent im 15 weeks now ,my doctor told me i have to stay in a bed rest so i dont know what to do

Cheyenne, please contact your doctor right away. They are the best person to advise you on the possibility of your pregnancy going to term and if there are any measures you can take to increase those odds.

So yea, I just got out of the hospital and while i was in there i was told that there was bleeding behind my placenta. I have miscarried twice, could that be due to that or something else. I really don't want to lose another baby. I don't think it's fair for me to go through again. Any advice or comments please tell me.

I recently suffered the loss of my baby through placental abruption, i delivered him naturally but stillborn.my placenta was partially detached and it was cruel that it managed to sustain him for 35 weeks, i had no bleeding later in pregnancy my movement just stopped.he was being sustained by it for so long, if i had bleeding we might have been able to save him. But!! i did have early pregnancy bleeding before 8 weeks and the doctors scanned me, it was put on my file and left at the fact that it was just implantation bleeding.i feel if they rechecked after 20 weeks they could have saved my son.

Tia, you'll have to ask your doctor to explain what he means by "rip." He may be referring placenta separation or it might be a hematoma or some else. Either way, it's important that you are being followed closely. Many pregnancies with these issues end happily but extreme cases may cause a miscarriage.

The doctor said that there is a rip between the placenta and my uterus! Is this the same thing as Placenta Separation? If not what does this mean??

being abused and suffering from trauma during pregnancy could cause you to miscarry. Is there a women's center in your area that you can turn to for assistance? If not, please call the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-SAFE (7233). They can help you get the assistance you need.

Hi, I have been abused frequently during my pregnancy ,and I am scared that my baby wont grow properly. Last night my boyfriend beat me up and slammed me on my back twice, he also put heavy pressure on my abdomen and I was in pain, im really scared that I will not have a healthy baby or a baby at all.

Hi Elaine, you'll really need to talk to your doctor about your concerns. He or she will know your full medical history and may be able to shed some light on the causes of your PPROM and placenta separation. Maybe there are some techniques or medications that he or she can recommend to help with your situation.
