I used a belt AFTER delivering my son...Shrinkx Postnatal Hip Belt, and it gave me great support during recovery, but even better than that, my hips are smaller than before I had my kids! Which is what the belt was designed to do, but it felt great wearing it too.

I don't know of any studies that have been done on the effectiveness of this. I don't think it would have much of an effect on positioning the baby and would hesitate to recommend it for medical uses.

Is there evidenced based practice on the effectiveness? Midwife is recommending for "good position" of baby.

A maternity belt really does work! I couldn't have made it through my pregnancy without mine! I think I purchased it from Motherhood Maternity..
