Kim, anytime you think you might be having labor pains, especially if it's before your due date, you need to contact your doctor. Although having loose stools can be a sign of labor, I don't think that going more often is. Still, any unexplained or unusual symptoms should be evaluated by a physician.
-- Contributed by: HollySwansonI have had a couple of hard contractions today, not really close or anything, but I have pooped more in the last 2 hours than I have in the last 2 weeks. Early Labor maybe?
-- Contributed by: KimTara, it sounds like the early stages of labor since it's more painful than Braxton Hicks contractions usually are. If they continue, call your doctor or hospital again and find out when they want you to come in.
-- Contributed by: HollySwansonim having sharp pains in lower abdomen they are like 7 min. apart. i can barely walk it hurts. i went to the hospital i was almost 4 cm. but they sent me home could this be labor?
-- Contributed by: taraMaria, it can be hard to tell when labor begins, even for women who have had several pregnancies. It sounds like you are having Braxton Hick Contractions right now. True contractions often hurt in your back and spread to the front, rather than the discomfort you might feel in your lower abdomen.
Either way, if the contractions increase ro get worse, give your doctor a call. It's better to get in touch with them too early than when you are really in labor.
-- Contributed by: HollySwansonI am so confused, second baby but totally different, with first I KNEW when I went into labor, this time, I feel a lot of low pressure and my contractions seem to increase more and more daily...but then there are periods they disappear! How do I know if it's the real deal?
-- Contributed by: MariaVirginia, as the baby moves around, you might notice more pressure in certain areas that can change over time. If you are at the end of your pregnancy, the low pressure may indicate that the baby has "dropped" to the bottom of your uterus and is head down.
-- Contributed by: HollySwansonI feel the baby is so low that I can't cross my legs. Is this normal and does it mean the baby is low enough to be at the top of my vagina?
-- Contributed by: VirginiaHeather, labor symptoms are often felt in the same area that you would feel menstrual pain so it's possible you are having contractions. If you haven't already, call your doctor or head to the nearest hospital.
-- Contributed by: HollySwansonwhat about pressure in the same area that I normally feel my monthly visitor? I've been having some contractions but now there is a dull pressure in that same area
-- Contributed by: heatherJess, since you are sure they are not Braxton Hick Contractions, you should talk to your doctor about them. It's possible you are having early labor symptoms.
-- Contributed by: HollySwansonive been having hours of regular contractions every 10mins lasting 40seconds...i know there not braxton hicks cos i began having them a few times a day when i was 28weeks...i know the difference eventho im a first time mum!! but my problem is that for three days i have between 2-4 hours of these regular contractions and then they totally disappear!!!

-- Contributed by: HollySwansonive searched different sights for labor signs and symtoms so I could really know the difference between braxton contractions and real contractions. Also when I should go in, and things to expect. This was the most helpful and descriptive. Thank you very much. The good news is I know what real labor is now and what to look for. The bad news is Im not in labor yet. lol
