Hello; 

Here is my situation: I got my last period on the 19th. I had an incident between the 9th and the 10th. My boyfriend and I were having oral sex and he ...med in my mouth, immediately I put the ... inside my vagina and started fingering myself. Im sorry for being too descriptive. I took a plan B pill 3 or 4 days later. On the 19th I got my period, I think, It was a very light and brown spotting at first then it got heavy the next 2 days, after it went back to very light and brown then to nothing. I had my period for 5 days which is very strange because I usually have the for 3 days and heavy. I'm not sure if its implantation bleeding or breakthrough bleeding because of the plan B. I heard that plan B can mess up menstrual cycle and I'm not sure if that is the problem. Thanks and sincerely Roxy

it can really be either. Since you didn't take the pill regularly, your cycle is probably off track, which can produce breakthrough bleeding. The bleeding might also be a sign that you are ovulating since some women have spotting with that. Take a pregnancy test when your period is due so you know for sure. You can also take the First Response Early Result Pregnancy Test, which is accurate four days before your period is due.

Hi! So, here's my situation. The first day of my last period was Oct. 25th. Today, 2 1/2 wks since I started my period I started bleeding. At first it was brownish pink and now it seems more red but really light. I also am really bad at taking my pills and only took the first two when I'm a week and a half into my pill cycle? Do you think this is break through bleeding or implantation bleeding? Or could it be either? I'm not really sure when I would have ovulated but it felt like I was ovulating on Friday the 6th. Thanks.

it can really be either. If the time you had sex was about two weeks after your period, you have a greater chance of having conceived since that was when you should have ovulated. Implantation bleeding usually occurs around the time your period is due, but can happen a few days earlier as well. If you still haven't gotten your period, you should take a pregnancy test.

I had my period earlier this month then I had sex on oct 15th 16th & 17th then about 11 or 12 days later started experiencing lite red and brown spotting and I think its my period but it is not flowing just spots here and there can this be implantation bleeding or just signs of my period coming

NB,

some women have spotting while they are on the pill. Since you don't know yet if this is just some normal breakthrough spotting, you should continue to take the pill and can take a pregnancy test on the day your next period is due.

Hearbaby, implantation bleeding happens within the first two weeks of pregnancy, so it's too later for you to experience that now, unless you conceived much later than you thought. That could, however, also explain the low HCG levels. Some bleeding is common in pregnancy so as long as the flow doesn't continue or get heavier, you may be just fine.

if you have the light pink discharge blood and you never have had it before. but you are on the pill, do you continue taking the pill until you are supposed to have you period on the placebo skip week and then take the pregnancy test? or do you stop taking the pill and just wait to take a pregnancy test that same week you are supposed to get your period?

I took 2 home pregnancy tests and they were both positive. I went to my doctor and took a blood test and have to go back tomorrow to take another. So far they say my HCG levels are low, but they need the test from tomorrow to make a determination. Today I should be about 5 weeks and i saw some light spotting. Can this be late implantation bleeding? or am I actually having a period and not pregnant.

if it is implantation bleeding, it can take a few more days before you get a positive pregnancy test. But, you might also just be having an irregular cycle and changes in your hormones that is causing the acne. Wait a few days and test again. if it's still negative, you're probably not pregnant.

I have a question: I had my period but the 1st day was normal with a bit of clotting, the other days was like old blood (brownish). I have a lot of activity in my stomach (not diarrhea) but like grumbling stomach. Nothing else. I took a test after my period and it was negative. I have pimples and my skin is just changing. I have had cramps that I could feel but nothing like period cramps(they were lighter) Could this "period" be implantation bleeding? could i be pregnant?

most women with regular cycles ovulate two weeks before their periods and many women have light spotting as a sign of ovulation. That's likely what this is. If the spotting continues or if you don't get your period, take a pregnancy test since there is a chance this could implantation bleeding, though that is more likely to occur closer to the time you expect your period.

i dont know what to think im not sure if im starting my period or if im spotting cuz im suppose to get my period two weeks from now but out of nowhere i started spotting at first it was pinkish and slightly brown then it was like nothing but the next day its like red but still no flow i have slight cramping but not notiable so idk what to think??

anytime you think you are pregnant, you should see a doctor. But the first thing they'll do is tell you to take a test and contact them if it's positive. If you have been getting negative test results, you probably weren't pregnant, but are instead having a late period.

I think I've had a miscarriage. I haven't had a positive test, but I think I'm 4 weeks along. I have had a lot of cramping, but I haven't been bleeding heavily. Does it sound like a miscarriage? And should I get checked out by a doctor?

it sounds like you've already had an early miscarriage. Since you've taken blood tests, I assume you are being seen by a doctor, right? He or she can give you a better idea of what's going on in your body.

The hCG hormone can stay in your body for several weeks after a miscarriage, so that's probably why you are getting the positive test results.

I don't no what is going on because on 6-3-09 i was pregnant and i took blood test and home and both are positive, then i started spotting on the 6-9-09 for 2 days then i took a test 2 check levels in blood it was 18 then it went to bleeding spotting for 3 days and took another level check and it was 13 so now im miscarrying, but im not having servere cramping or heavy bleeding and every week im taking home test like this am it was positive and i was having rusty dark bleeding or discharge, i had 2 miscarriages in the past and im server high risk and they wern't nothing like this at all. so my question is im I pregnant or not? please help!!!

the earliest you should take a home pregnancy test is two weeks after ovulation, which is also usually the first day you expect your next period. If it's negative and you don't get a period, wait a few days and try testing again.

most pregnancy tests aren't valid until a day or two before your period is due. The pregnancy hormone, hCG, is only produced after implantation occurs, so it takes a few days after that to get a positive test. Wait another day and test again.

My husband and I are trying to concieve. I ovulated around the 14th or 15th of May. I Had a positive Ovulation test on the 12th 13th and 14th of may so I am guessing THat the 14th or 15th is when I ovulated. I think I may have had Implantation bleeding on the 23rd of may which would have made me 8 days past ovulation. My question is. How long should I wait to take a Home pregnancy test. It has been 3 days since my spotting and I took a test today and it was Negative. I am due for my period in 2 more days.

Wouldn't it be that the baby would be born 3-4 weeks earlier than originally estimated if implantation bleeding was mistaken as a period? Not 3-4 weeks later...

Hello, my last cycle was april 25...I missed my cycle that was supposed to come on may 22. A week later I am having slight cramping (it feels more like pressure). Yesturday evening I had a slow blood flow it started out pink with mucous and now its a redish brown color. Could this be implantation

Joy, implantation bleeding is very light and doesn't usually include any clotting. Although the timing would be right for ovulation bleeding, this is also usually very light and easy to overlook. I don't know what caused that bleeding, but you should mention any irregular bleeding, especially if it's heavy, to your doctor.

I had my period on April 22- 25th. I had unprotected sex on April 29th. On May 11th I started bleeding for 3.5 days. Which is usually how long my periods last. there were clots. Could that have been implantation bleeding.

ummm.. i was wondering so i had unprotected sex on april. 28 nd on a saturday i thought i had gotten my period but the bleeding wasn't heavy , it was light nd justed happen when i used the bathroom, i was freakin out. and the next day i wasn't bleeding anymore, but then got this spotting the day after but now i haven't bleeded anymore or seen any spotting or blood. could that be implantation bleeding? umm i wanted to take a pregnancy test but i don't know how long i should wait to make sure that it is a right response? if you know could you help me . i'm kinda scared and really don't know what to do.

it's probably the start of your period. It can take some women several months to get a regular period after coming off birth control, but six months is a lot longer than expected. If this doesn't turn out to be your period, contact your doctor since they might want to do an exam.

If you think there is a good chance you could be pregnant, you should take another pregnancy test.

Okay so I have had no period for 6 months (since I've gone off birthcontrol) I took a test about 2 weeks ago and it was Negeative. Now I am starting to lightly bleed (dark Brown), not much, just enough to wear a small pad. Implantation bleeding or my body getting rid of old blood??

implantation bleeding should only last a short time and isn't affected by what type of activity you have. I'm surprised your doctor feels this is implantation bleeding since most women usually don't know if they are pregnant when it occurs. Unless your doctor has told you otherwise, you can continue your usual activities.

have you taken a pregnancy test? It sounds like the bleeding you experienced might have been implantation and the timing was right, so if you still don't have a period you should definitely test.

my period was late for 4 days, then i experience a brown bleeding then continued to a light pinkish bleedng for four days,it was not like any normal periods i have..i think its implantation bleeding and really hoping that it's early sign of pregnancy, but i dont want to get my hopes all up cause i'm afraid of being dissapointed..we have been trying for a year...what are the possiblities actually?

are you sure the period you had earlier was an actual period and not implantation bleeding? If it was a period, then you might be having ovulation spotting now, which is not unusual and is perfectly normal. But if the bleeding continues or gets worse, contact your doctor.

I have had unusual bleeding but I'm not sure what the timing means. I had a normal period, though it came about ten days earlier than I usually have a period. But even now, a good 5 days after this period is supposed to be over (a total of ten days since it started) I'm having very light "spotting". It varies from brown to bright red. Any ideas?

since your period is still another week away, it's probably too late for this bleeding to be related to ovulation. It might, however, be from implantation or it could just be some mid-cycle spotting. In just a few more days, you can take the can take the First Response Early Result Pregnancy Test, which is accurate four days before your period is due.

Carmal, even though you took a test the day before your period was due, it's still a good idea to take another once your period is late. If you conceived a few days later than you suspect, it might take a bit longer to get a positive test result.

hi me and my partner have been trying for a baby for some time and when i woke this morning and went to the toilet, when i wiped there was some blood it was very light in colour and it looked like is was sticky. im not due on my period for another week just woundering what it could be any ideas.

I was looking up contractions on line for implantation and it really happens ....When the egg burrows into you. It can hit nerves and your stomach can contract. Its almost like hickups! LOL! And I think a week before my period is a long time wait if Im spotting. It only happend for maybe a hour....(Pinkish spotting)Then it was gone. It has been 4 days now and no period so I dont think I was getting ready to start ...It would have started the next day for sure!!! There is nothing. I only have 4 days to wait now till my period should start... Will see what happens

you might be pregnant, or you might just be having some spotting. Once your period is late, you should definitely take a pregnancy test. I've not heard of contractions so early in a potential pregnancy, but the early signs are different for everyone.

Yes....I am going to Def. take a test but I have to wait a few days. My period is supposed to start on the 17th so I am gonna wait and see if I get it. I just never had spotting before. exp. a week before my period. It was exactly 7 days after I ovulated. I went to the bathroom twice. Saw pinkish blood (not much at all) then it was gone. So....Im gonna wait till the 17th to take a test. I will let you know if its Positive.

7 days after ovulation. I had a little bleeding and when I say little I only saw it twice.and then it was gone.I thought I was starting my period a week early. I also had contractions. almost like my uterus was contracting. It was very strange. This never happend to me before. implantation bleeding only happens when a fertilized egg is implanted, meaning that you are pregnant. For many women, however, it's hard to know whether implantation bleeding is actually happening or if it's a part of your period or spotting for some other reason. If you think you've had implantation bleeding, you should definitely take a pregnancy test.

For most women, there is always some chance that they could be pregnant. Sperm can live for about 72 hours after intercourse. If I had to guess, I'd say you're probably not pregnant based on the timing, but you never know. The body is far from an exact science and you could have ovulated on a different day.

Jennifer, with your period on 2/14, you probably ovulated around 2/28, which is when you'd be most likely to conceive. The discharge you noticed was probably related to ovulation, as some women will notice spotting during this time. It would really be too early for this to be implantation bleeding, unless you conceived earlier, but then you'd be able to get a positive test result.

I had my period on February 14th. It lasted for about 4-5 days. On Feb. 25th my hubby and I had sex. Normally his "man juice" will just come out of me, but this time it didn't. On the 27th or the 28th I had some brownish discharge. Could this be implantation bleeding? My period for Feb. was about 6-7 days late. Celeste, implantation bleeding can last for a day or two. Even after implantation has occured, it can take a few days for enough pregnancy hormone to develop so you get a positive pregnancy test. Wait a few more days and test again. If you don't get your period, give your doctor a call for a Blood-based Pregnancy Test.

Dee, a few days after the bleeding or on the day your period is due, you can take a pregnancy test. Implantation bleeding is common, but it usually isn't very heavy, so if your's continues you should contact your doctor again.

I am experiencing implantation bleeding right now, and it is scary!!! I feel like im loosing a battle that I never knew I was fighting. The advice regarding this occurence is very reassuring, and when I went to the hospital they said thats what it may be and to be careful. Christina, since your period is well over a month late, you should definitely take a pregnancy test. Anytime after the first day of a missed period, you can expect accurate results from a test.

As for the spotting, if you are pregnant, it might just be some normal Pregnancy Bleeding. If you're not pregnant, it could be the start of your period. If you conceived already, it should have happened several weeks ago, so I doubt this is implantation bleeding.

My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant since the start of June with no luck. I didnt have a period last month and I should have started 12/11. I havent started at all this month and have been stressed so I havent worried about it but starting today I have noticed a reddish brown discharge when I wipe. Could this be implantation bleeding? if the bleeding you noticed was around 1/4, it was probably Bleeding During Ovulation. If you conceived at that time, you likely wouldn't notice any implantation signs until a week or two later. But, it's still possible that you did conceive so you should take a test when your next period is due.

I started my period on 12-21-08 ended ummm right before New Years Eve. Well i see my ovulation day is January 4th and i started having VERY light pink discharge only when i wipe maybe once in one day. I once had it after a bowel movement. My period is not due until Jan 21st. Spotting lasted 4 days. If you count back it leads directly to my ovulation date!!!! I also had intercourse between my fertile and most fertile time ...could this be implantation bleeding?? No cramps, sometimes i feel bloated in the very lower portion of my stomach. Oh my gosh...somebody lead me toward the sunshine and say it sounds good!!! Been trying for 4 years and this has NEVER happened to me...HELP!!!

if you conceived aroun 12/1, you should have had implantation bleeding back around 12/15. If you have unexplained bleeding now, please get in touch with your OB to make sure it is normal Pregnancy Bleeding.

I had unprotected sex on the 1st of dec, and had my periods on the 24th dec. Now its jan 12 and am experiencing implantation bleeding. So everything is ok bt make sure u seek proper medication b4 its worse. Gudluck.

Michaela, the spotting you notice could be from several things, including implantation bleeding or the beginning of your period. If you haven't already, take another pregnancy test or see your fertility clinic for a follow-up.

i'm a little confused. on 15. Oct i had insemination and now waiting in anticipation. on 28. and 30. Oct i experienced some discharge...almost transparent but a little pinkish. i took HPT on 30. Oct in the morning and it was negative. on 1. Nov i had brownish-pink spotting in the afternoon with cramping like before i get my period. in the evening the cramping got a bit heavier but i thought i shouldn't worry about it. the next morning i experienced some bleeding but scanty. i'm using a pad and it's still clean. i notice blood only when i wipe. i still have cramps and i'm bloated. could i be experiencing a miscarriage?

Sara, some light spotting during pregnancy is not uncommon. If the bleeding continues or gets heavier, it might be the sign of an early miscarriage, but it's probably normal at this point.

i found out last saturday when i was in the er i was preganat but i won't miss my first period til november 1 but today i been spotting just when i wipe but about 30 mins ago i had a very small blood clot on my towel paper but it was very small not even a penny size was is going on??????

Helen, the bleeding you described does sound like it could be from implantation, though it doesn't line up with your cycle. But, our bodies don't really follow a chart, so you could have ovulation and conceived earlier than you may have thought.

I'm afraid at this point, there is nothing to do but wait it out and see what they say at your next doctor test. Good luck! Let us know what you find out.

Hi, 2 days ago and about 2 weeks into my cycle I woke in the morning and had some spotting pinky brown and only when I wiped. I followed medical and did a pregnancy test to rule that out despitte the fact that we've been trying to conceive for the last 4 months. The test result was positive so had another done at the GP's surgery that same day. That same night however I had another 'spotting' episode and cramps. Returned to the GP the next morning and was sent to the hospital to see Gynae where I had an internal exam and blood tests which showed hormone level at 218. I have to go back tomorrow (2 days after 1st visit) for another hormone test to work out what might be going on....I am lost I know the possibilities include early miscarriage and ectopic pregnancy as well as the chance that this may be ok but why would such an early pregnancy show up on a test and could there be something else wrong with me giving false information to the medics?? I want a baby more than anything in the world but with all this uncertainty and confusion I'm so scared right now. Must add though that this is the first I've heard of implantation bleeding and described my symptoms perfectly. Can you shed any light?? With thanks Hx

Clarissa, you should give your OB/Gyn a call. Most of the typical types of bleeding outside of a period are from implantation or ovulation, but neither would last this long.

Sharon, the spot you noticed might be implantation or it could be a sign of late ovulation since some women notice bleeding with that too. Since it sounds like you got your period, you are probably not pregnant. If the bleeding stopped and it wasn't a full period, you should take a pregnancy test.

I`ve been bleeding lightly on and off for a week now, and it is anything from light blood to brown discharge. I`ve never had this before and its weird, one minute its there and then its gone and its confusing. When i have a normal period it lasts 5 days and its normal, so what is happening?

I have been trying for a baby. A week before my period I noticed a spot of brown blood. This happened only for one day. Becuase this never happened before in my life I was concerned so searched on web. I had not even heard of Implantation bleeding until I read about it on the web so instead of concerned I was happy to read I could be pregnant. I also had slight cramps. However week later it seems I have started to bleed lightly on the expected day I normally have my period. Kathleen, implantation bleeding only occurs if you are pregnant, so I'm not sure if you had that or just a light period. If the test is negative, it was probably a light period. Wait a few days and test again.

hello, IF you get the implantation bleeding when your period is due and when it stopped after 3.5 days the pregnancy test says negative; does that means you are not pregnant?

Samantha, any time you miss some pill you can have an odd cycle, including mid-cycle spotting. If your period doesn't come as normal or if the bleeding or cramping gets worse, you should give your doctor a call, but you should still get your period around the time it's due.

I am taking jolessa which is basically just like seasonal. i missed a few days of my pills out of utter stupidity and not remembering. and now almost a week and a half later i am having weird bleeding. no flow. it just spots for a bit then stops. its pinkish brown. i bloated a bit and had some cramps about a week ago. and i am really confused. my period is due next week. ?? help?

Michelle, usually, implantation bleeding would be over after a day or two, but everyone is different. I would wait another two days and take a pregnancy test again. Since your period is irregular, it's hard to say when your period is due, otherwise I'd recommend that you wait until the due date.

My husband and I are trying to conceive. My last cycle was 38 days and I had a very heavy flow which is normal for me. Now on the 26th day I began bleeding very lightly. It is more pinkish and dried blood than the normal deep color. This is nothing like I have ever experienced. It has been very light off and on for 5 days now. Many times I thought it completely ended but a day later I have light spotting again. Today is day 30 so I decided to take a pregnancy test which was negative. I am so confused. Is this a period or am I pregnant?

ive been told by my doctor i may be 10 weeks pregnant but i think im 6 weeks because i had a bleed for 1 day when i was due my period,but from reading about implantation bleeding could it be possible that i am 10 weeks (although i think its unlikely) because the last time i had sex was 18 days before i had this 1 day bleed and i had a normal period 10 days before i had sex.

Catlina, congratulations on your pregnancy! Ultrasounds are usually done at different times depending on the doctor, but many do the first one around 6 weeks to make sure the uterus and baby look healthy and viable. After that, you might get another one around 12 weeks.

You can usually start getting good image of the baby around 18-20 weeks and the gender is often visable by then as well.

Leslie, it sounds like you had a definite positive pregnancy test. The lightness of the control line shouldn't matter unless there was something wrong with the test. Since you are having some bleeding and are questioning your other test, it's a good idea to take another test as a backup. Make sure your doctor understands that you have a positive test. You can request a Blood-based Pregnancy Test to give you more accuracy.

I took a HPT July 4th with the result of a very dark Pregnant Line and a faint Not Pregnant line...The test I took a week earlier said Not Pregnant, so I'm assuming it's still very early in my pregnancy. I've had some very light bleeding for 2 days now, and it has a little bit of red tissue in it. Could this be Implantation Bleeding or something more serious? My Doc's appt. isn't until August 10th and I'm very concerned.

Catlina, any pregnancy test on the market would be "approved" and accurate or else it wouldn't be sold. I'm surprised your doctor didn't give you a Blood-based Pregnancy Test. if you test positive again, ask your doctor to give you one of those, which can give you more information about a potential pregnancy.

Amber, with your last period on June 27, it's too early to take a pregnancy test and get accurate results. I'm not sure if you have a regular cycle, but 28 days after your last period is generally when you can take a test.

Midcycle spotting isn't uncommon and it could happen for any number of reasons. The spotting you just had might still be a little early for ovulation bleeding but it's possible. Wait at least two more weeks and test again.

thanks for ur reply.yes i know it is weird.anyway i'm waiting for one more day to see whether my period will be coming cuz i've quite a regular cycle every month.i forgot to mention, the faint line appear about 2 minutes after i dip the hpt stick into the urine(i dipped the stick few seconds in the urine & lay it on a flat,dry surface).the package says that the result should be read within 3 minutes, and i am sure i'm doing it the correct way.at the doctor's, he do the test and he told me it's negative after what seem to be...only half a minute,and he held the test stick at his hand most of the time after dipping it in urine,i dunno,maybe his is more accurate but i told him already about the hpt that i done at home but he says maybe the hpt was not approved.but if it not approved, how come it can be sold at the pharmacy..weird.... anyhow..i only hope for the best..tq again.wish me luck.

Having weird issues & don't know what to do. I got my period on June 27th which was VERY light pink & brown didn't really have alot of flow & lasted 3 days, was very light. Then yesterday july 8th starting spotting light pink which turned dark red almost brown. called the Gyno & they said it may be because I didn't ovulate last month & now I am ovulating which is causing the bleeding. I took a test this morning & it cameout negative but I am still worried that I could be pregnant because I never have had this happen to me before.

Catlina, it's strange that you would have two positive pregnancy tests at home but a negative at the doctor. Unless your doctor is willing to give you another test in his office or administer a Blood-based Pregnancy Test, you'll need to wait a few more days until your period is late and try again.

My situation is like Julie's. Been married for 2 years but only been trying to get pregnant in these 3 months. Julie, with your period still six days away, it's too early to take a pregnancy test and get reliable results. The bleeding you noticed might be related to a late ovulation, implantation, or it could even have been an irregular period. You can take the First Response Early Result Pregnancy Test four days before your period is due but most other tests can be taken on the first day of your expected period.

Rami, since it sounds like you have an irregular cycle, it's hard to know exactly what's going on right now. It could be implantation bleeding, bleeding with ovulation, or just the start of your period. It will be hard to know when to take a pregnancy test since you don't really know when your period is due, but you could take one about once a week.

Your husband's steriods won't have any effect on your cycle.

I have been trying to concieve for the past 4 months.Some strange events that have happened, I have always had normal periods 30 day cycle,howver this has changed since the past 4 months: -1st month 10 days delayed -2nd month no period, doc told to wait after 3 weeks from due date gave period inducer 5 day medicine, so exactly after 2 months i had period -4th month its been 13 days over the due date(assuming normal earlier cycle of 30)

I observed some brownish fluid stains today, some very small clots as well, neither do i feel any cramps,its nothing like period. Should i take a pregnancy test? Also my husband has been on a dose of steroids becuase he is suffering from ankolysing spondilysis, can this have any effect over me? Thanks .

since your last period was May 25, you'd be likely to ovulate around June 8. It's possible that the spotting you noticed was related to ovulation if it happened later this month or that it might be implantation. You can take the First Response Early Result Pregnancy Test four days before your period is due to give you an early idea if you're pregnant.

I had a tubal pregancy about 2 years ago. They removed my right tube. Me an my husban have been trying to have another baby. My period has been very irregular and I went to the Dr. in May. I had a period on May 4th and my Dr put me on Progesterone starting my 16th day. I then had another period starting on May 25th and it was very very heavy with very painful cramps. Nicole, periods can vary widely in woman, even if you've always had a regular period in the past. It sounds like you just had an irregular period this month, but if you think you could be pregnant and that this bleeding was from implantation, wait a few more days and take another pregnancy test. If that one is still negative, you're not pregnant.

I have regular periods. They usually last 5-7 days. I was due to start my period on May 22 but I ended up starting on May 21. The 1st day wasn't heavy(although I woke up to major cramping) it was like my 4th day with little stringy clots. The next day I went to I went to change my tampon and it was dry with a little pink at the tip. So I wore a panty linner for the rest of the day and night and nothing ever came out on it. So the following morning I wiped and saw pink so I thought that my period was coming back(starting to flow again) so I put a tampon in. When I went to pull it out later it was dry again and a little brown was at the tip. So I wore a panty linner again. The rest of that day and the following day I had a little bit of brown discharge come out. This is not normal for me and I've been ready about implantation bleeding since this happened!! I've also taken 2 hpt soon after and both came back neg! Please help.

Lily, although your period did come early in May, you seem to have a pretty irregular cycle so it would be difficult to say if or when you conceived, assuming you were pregnant. Since you got a full period, I don't believe you are pregnant, especially since it came just 10 days after you last had sex. If you think you are pregnant, though, you should take a pregnancy test.

Autumn, periods can vary greatily, even in women who usually have regular cycles. If this period was lighter and you think you might be pregnant, you should take a pregnancy test to ease your mind. Spotting and sore breasts can be some of the symptoms of pregnancy, but they might also be part of an irregular period.

H, implantation bleeding usually occurs later in your cycle, after ovulation. If your last period was irregular, though, it's possible. Since your period is late, you should take a home pregnancy test to let you know for sure.

Desprete, how soon after sex did you notice the blood? If it was right away or just a short time later, it's more likely related to the sex. Implantation bleeding occurs 7-10 days after ovulation and conception. It might also just be some random spotting, which can happen from time to time.

with your period on April 17, you would have ovulated around May 1. It might be possible for you to have implantation bleeding. It usually happens about 7-10 days after ovulation, but if you ovulated a day or two later and conceived, May 12 might be right. You can take a pregnancy test soon, in fact the First Response Early Result Pregnancy Test works four days before your period is due.

Sonal, a light period is just one that doesn't have a strong flow. It can different for everyone, but it might be heavy spotting compared to what you typically have with a period. But again, it shouldn't last a month. If it was related to sex, it should only happen for a few hours, maybe a day, after sex.

Sonal, the bleeding is probably not related to a pregnancy, but you should take a home pregnancy test so you know for sure. After that, you should contact your OB/GYN for a checkup. Bleeding for a month is not typical and might indicate a problem that your doctor needs to address.

Hi, I had protected sex a 6 weeks ago and 2 weeks later i had some brown pink spots on my underwear. I am not sure if its implantation bleeding coz as much I know it doesn't last for more that 3-4 days. In my case it continued for almost a month. I am 20. Could it be some kind of teenage bleeding that is not related to pregnancy? Celia, if it was too soon for you to get an accurate result on a pregnancy test, it should also be too soon to have most of the early signs of pregnancy. Usually, a woman doesn't experience many of these, like weight gain, until about six weeks after conception.

You don't mention when your period is due but you can take the First Response Early Result Pregnancy Test four days before your period is due.

It's too early right now for you to take a pregnancy test and get accurate results. In another week or if your period is late, you can test then. The symptoms you mention are some of the early signs of pregnancy, but they could also be a sign of PMS or the flu or a combination of several things.

Since you had sex two days before your period started, it's unlikely that you are pregnant since you would have ovulated about 10 days before that. But if your cycle is irregular or if you ovulated late for some reason, it's not out of the question and you could be pregnant. Probably not, but possible.

My fiancee and I made love for the first time on December 23, 2007. I started my mensus on the 25th but it was three days short. Today, January 17, 2008 I am having extremely light bleeding. It is mostly a kind of clear discharge with some light pink blood. There is no spotting on my pad, but it is there when I wipe. I am a heavy flower and have never had such a light first day. Could I be pregnant? Or is this just a weird thing my body is doing?

it's really hard to say if you might be pregnant now. Have you taken a pregnancy test yet? Since your period is late, you can take a test now and get accurate results. After a miscarriage, it can often take your body a few months to get back to a normal cycle, so your spotting this month may simply be related to that, especially if the miscarriage happened during the second trimester or later.

I miscarried 1 month 1 week and 1 day ago. I was late and have only been spotting with no cramps or anything and this is unlike me because I normally have a lot of pain. if you didn't have intercourse and your two home pregnancy tests are negatives, I'd guess that you are not pregnant. Stress, a change in schedule, and diet changes could be related to your period being off. Since you are only about a week late, try to relax and just wait for it to come. If you find yourself overly concerned, you might want to go on the pill since that will keep you on a regular cycle and will help you not worry about being pregnant. Good luck.

there's really no right way to experience a pregnancy. Some women get hit with a lot of symptoms while others barely notice the signs. In your case, your pregnancy has been marked with medical concerns and since you are just at the end of your first trimester, you might not have developed the tell-tale bump that makes most women feel pregnant.

If you have been under the care of a doctor who has been monitoring your baby, I assume your baby is fine. Talk with your doc, though, if you have lingering doubts or concerns.

I last had my period on Oct. 6. My boyfriend and I played around on October 12 and November 11. There's no penetration involved but his genital touched mine ( hoax sex without clothes on). I'm still a virgin. It's November 19 now and I should have had my period on November 8-10. I'm really worried that I might be pregnant. I can't focus on my work because of this thought. Is the same thing probably happening again to me because I don't feel stress at work right now? Two weeks ago, I changed my daily routine because we started cooking in our apartment and I am tasked to do the morning cooking so I'll have to wake up earlier. I use to wake up at past 7 in the morning but since the cooking I wake up at 6 in the morning. Can that change in routine be a factor? Should I take another pregnancy test? When? I would also like to add that I don't eat a heavy meal for breakfast but two weeks ago I started eating heavy meals for breakfast. Could that also be a factor? When I wake up this morning I experienced an unbearable pain in my lower abdomen. Same part when I get cramps. I think I'll go to do the doctor as soon as possib I took some mefenamic acid and after a few minutes I fall asleep and the pain is gone. And also when I urinated on about 2am, I've noticed that there is blood. But i have no flow right now.

Hi! I had spotting before and my ob gave me duphaston. She asked me to continously take it until my 12 weeks of pregnancy. the bleeding stopped already and I'm stilltaking the medicine. the spotting you noticed could be a number of things...it could just be some mid-cycle spotting, implantation bleeding, or early spotting during pregnancy. Since you are about due for your period, you should try taking a home pregnancy test. But if it's negative and you still don't have your period, wait a few days and try again. Good luck!

Hi me and my fiancee have started trying for a baby. I came off the pill 3 months ago but only stopped using protection this month. My regular cycle has been 26 days so we had sex on day 9, 10, 11, and 13 of my cycle.

On day 18 of my cycle i noticed a very small amount of pinky brown discharge on wiping. I had a similar very small amount on one occasion on day 19 both with very mild abdo cramps. I also had a similar pink discharge on on day 23 of my cycle after sex. It is now 2 days before my period is due.

I have some slight premenstrual bloating and moodiness but do not have my usual breast tenderness i have next to none.

Could i be pregnant?? And can i take a test now. Please help i have read so many things about early spotting my mind is swimming in circles and i really want to be a mom

if you have regular cycles, you would ovulated in the middle of last week since day 20 was Saturday. While you might have conceived during that time, it would probably be too early for you to have noticeable signs of pregnancy, although the things you mention could indeed be pregnancy symptoms.

It's too early right now for you to take a pregnancy test and get accurate results. In another week or if your period is late, you can test then. The spotting you described could be implantation bleeding, the beginning of an early period, or just some mid-cycle spotting. There's no way to know yet, but good luck!

Mush, it sounds like it's still too early for you to take a pregnancy test and get accurate results since your period is not late yet. In another week, you can test.

You don't say how much bleeding you had, but it could just be an early period, implantation bleeding, or some normal spotting during pregnancy if you are pregnant, but it would be early for that assuming you had your period normally last month.

If there is a lot of bleeding or if you are too concerned to wait to take a test, contact your OB/GYN or family doctor.

was the blood you saw in your urine? If it was, it's probably a sign of a bladder infection. It sounds like that's what your doctor thinks. If it was not in your urine but was spotting from your vagina, you'll need to call your doctor back and re-explain everything.

A bladder infection is not unusual during pregnancy and shouldn't have any effect on the baby. It's also common for women to have some spotting during pregnancy.

since your period is late, you should take a home pregnancy test. It sounds like the blood test you took won't give you any answers about whether or not you are pregnant so it won't matter if it has too early.

The discharge you had may have been some spotting during pregnancy or it might have just been menstrual spotting. There's no way to know though until you take a test.

After A week of ultrasound I saw blood in my urine. my husband said it's like a teaspoon of blood. After that I called my doctor and she advised me to take duphaston 3x a day. The spotting continued for two days and it stopped for a day. And then it came back again. Is my baby still okay? Or is it a possibility of miscarriage? Please let me know soon..This is my first baby and I'm very very scared.

Hello My last period was 10/03/2007 I'm due for my period today 10/31/07 No sign.. On the 29th and 30TH I had a brown discharge very very light maybe a spot or two not even enough to fill a tampon. and that was it. I took a blood test on 10/31/2007 just a normal blood test nothing that test HSG level or anything like that.... Do you think I tested to early?

Have you called your doctor or taken a pregnancy test? I think your first step is to take a test. If it's negative you should call your doctor and talk to them about your irregular period. If you are not try to conceive, you might want to go on the pill to regulate your cycles.

On other hand, if you do want to have a baby, your doctor might put you on Clomid to help with conception.

The symptoms you mention are some of the early signs of pregnancy, but they could also be a sign of PMS or the flu or a combination of several things.

since your cycle is irregular, it's hard to know when you can take a pregnancy test and get accurate results. But there's no harm in taking it now. If you ovulated and conceived in mid October, you'd be about two weeks pregnant. That's usually when a woman's period is late and she can yake a test.

If you take one and it's negative, I'd wait another week then test again.

The heavy bleeding for one day baffles me. I would think implantation bleeding would have happened earlier and it's usually not that heavy. But maybe you are just having an irregular period or it could be some spotting during pregnancy.

Hi my last period was on the 16th September ( have between a 31 - 42 day cycle) - ovulation was on 12th October, we tried on 12th and 13th was severley bloated and lots of discharge on 24 -28 and then bleed heavy for one day on the 28th now I have no flow for 24hours. Could I be pregnant?

The past two periods I had were abnormal. I had a very light period on August 21 that only lasted for about 3 days. It started off brown then turned to light pink. Then on October 23 I had a very light period for 4 days. My last normal period was in July. My nipples are extremely sore and I have put on 10 pounds. I have been very moody lately and emotional. I dont know if Im pregnant or not. Does this sound normal? My period normally are very heavy and last 6-7 days.

It's too early right now for you to take a a pregnancy test and get accurate results since you're still a week away from your period date, assuming you get regular cycles. In another week or if your period is late, you can test then. The spotting you described could be implantation bleeding, the beginning of an early, or just some mid-cycle spotting. There's no way to know yet.

Hi. I had my last period at the beginning of September and have not had a period yet. A couple of wks ago I started experiencing tenderness and heaviness in my breasts. Hi Stephanie, it could just be some normal spotting during pregnancy or it could be a sign of an early miscarriage.

Have you been to a doctor yet? If not, give your OB/GYN a call tomorrow. They can get a better idea of what's going on by giving you a blood-based pregnancy test that will measure how much HCG is in your body. Low levels could confirm a miscarriage or higher levels will let you know you are still pregnant.

Lynn, since your period is a few days late, you should take a pregnancy test. This could be the start of your period or it might be implantation bleeding, but taking a test is the first step.

I have been trying to get pregnant for about 7-8 months. Last month I was put on provera to start a period because I hadn't had one, and then put on clomid days 5-9. My period started on the 24th of September but they are very irregular. Today is the 22nd of october and I have a brown mucus discharge.I have two healthy boys both of which a home pregnancy test did not work until I was 7-8 weeks along. I am wondering could I be pregnant or is this just a period about to start?

I Started ovulation on the 8th, we tried on the 9th. I had some light pink spotting on the 16th. I had a blood test done on the 17 and it came back negative. I'm still having light cramps and minimal bloating with light nausea but no flow ! Could I have tested to early ? May I still be preagnant ?

Sarah, You don't mention when your last period is, so I can't really tell you when it's time to take a pregnancy test and get accurate results. But if you the symptoms you are having really are from pregnancy, you should be able to test now and rely on the results.

You're right, though, you may have had either a light period or implantation bleeding. There's only one way to know for sure. Go ahead and test. Best of luck!

I've been having cramps/twinges in my lower stomach like period pains for the last 3 weeks, feeling sick, bloated and very tired. I normally have light cramps a few days before my period but somehow this seems different. I have just had what I think is a period however it normally lasts 5 days (I only bled for 2). Me and my fiance have just started trying for our first baby, the way I have been feeling makes me think I am pregnant, could this bleeding have been my period or implantation bleeding as someone has suggested, I am wondering whether to do a home test?

Pam, your doctor won't want to see you until you've had a positive result on a home pregnancy test. If your period is already late, this isn't the time for implantation bleeding, that would have happened about 10 days before your period was due.

But, maybe your cycle is messed up this month for some reason. You should definitely take a test and call your doctor if it's positive. Good luck!

My period was due on 3 Oct. But till now no periods. But suddenly this Sat, I am satrted geting Pink spot. Today some red spot as well. Is it implantation bleeding? Can we see our doctors or we have to do Pregnancy test? Please suggest

Jessy, you're right, it could be either implantation bleeding or pregnancy related spotting.

It could also be a side effect of the Clomid, especially since this is the first month that you have been on it. The label for Clomid lists unusual vaginal bleeding as a potentially serious side effect. It could be just spotting or it may be related to implantation, but you should tell your doctor about it in case it's something more serious.

Hi Lisa, yes, it's possible you're having either implantation bleeding or spotting during pregnancy. But, it's also possible that this is just random, breakthrough spotting. Since you're about due for your period, go ahead and take a home pregnancy test.

I do not know if what I am having is IB. This was my first month on clomid and i took it cd3-7. My charting program says that I may have Oed on CD15. My temp went below the cover line on CD19 - I started spotting dark brown blood on CD20 i noticed it at work when i wiped in the bathroom by night time when i got home i noticed brownish spotting on my panties but my temp went up that day. on CD 21 in the am when i used my BBT and it came out redishbloody looking but my temp went up again. when i was in work i kept wiiping and it was more bloody looking but not a full *flow* i wore a pad and i had a couple of spots ont he pad and it looked dark in color. by nite time it turned backinto a spotting in a darker brownish red shade. this morning my temp went up again and its not bloody looking anymore. its looks watery brownish wheni wipe. and theres a slight lil spot on my pad. could it be IB or a veryyy early AF?

I have experienced light lower back pain (cramping) for the last week (just after ovulation). I don't normally get light cramping that early. I just started spotting a light brown today, 10 days after ovulation. My period would normally start 2-4 days from now. When I do spot before my period it's usually the day before only. Hi Tammy, implantation bleeding usually only lasts a few days, maybe 4-5 at the most. It's also typically a brown, but it is very light like you mentioned.

Maybe you had Bleeding During Ovulation rather than implantation?

Either way, I'd recommend that you wait until the first expected day of your period before taking a test.

I had what I thought was a period but now I am not so sure. My periods are ususaly 5 days with heavy bleeding and lots of clotting, This period was 7 days with light bleeding and no clotting at all, and the blood was darker red. I have been diagnosed with PCOS inthe past so I do not have regular periods and now my husband and I are trying to have a baby. what you are describing does sound like implantation bleeding and the early signs of pregnancy, but it is still too early to test.

If you are having implantation bleeding, you would only be pregnant by about a week. You will need to wait at least another week before you can be sure of the test results. You can take another test on the day your period is due.

Katie, I'm glad you figured what was going on, but you can get breakthrough bleeding or random spotting even if you are not on the pill. It's fairly common happens to plenty of women who don't take the pill.

Implantation Bleeding, on the other hand, occurs only at the beginning of a pregnancy.

I started bleeding 2 days ago and it does not seem like my period. It is very light (no need to use a pad) and very light pink color (almost like little blood mixed with water). I am having some cramping but no regular flow. I have a bad heart burn, feel bloated and really tired. I took a pregnancy test yesterday but came out negative. Could i be pregnant? Shawna, many pills can have spotting as one of their side effects, especially if a pill has been missed or if you are taking other medications that affect it. But, pills are not 100 percent effective, so it is possible to get pregnant while taking it.

I think you are right to retest. If you get a positive, call your doctor and stop taking your Yaz since you shouldn't take the pill while you are pregnant. I already have two children, but I am a little puzzled right now. I got off the mini-pill almost 2 months ago and switched to Yaz. I had a normal period but this past week I thought I was just having break through bleeding....today, I had bright red blood and dizziness..so, I bought a home pregnancy test and I think I got a positive, I am going to retest in the morning, but ??? Sarah, I agree with Katie, sounds to me like your cycle is crazy right now because of your birth control pills not being taken on time. Your body is basically get an extra dose of hormones once in a while, but not enough to make it count.

Was your home pregnancy test negative? If it was, you should start taking your pills more regularly or talk to you doctor if you plan on getting pregnant.

Katie, I don't think you had implantation bleeding back in May, it may have just been some break through spotting that can occur from time to time. If that was from implantation, you would be about four months pregnant now and would definitely know it f you were looking for Signs of Pregnancy. I think it sounds like your period is just out of whack, which can make woman think they are pregnant since many of the signs are there.

You don't mention if you've been to the doctor or taken a pregnancy test . Either of these would put your mind at ease for sure, but I suspect you're not pregnant.

Hi on the 2nd may I had pink blood in my discharge I don't know if it is Implantation bleeding 2 weeks later I got my period then the next 3 months my periods went into patterns I have had pregnancy symptoms a month or 2 ago. This month My period came late for no reason which has never happened to me before it came on the next day at 10:30pm then gone and came back at 12:15 am the next day morning. Hi Lyndsey, although most women don't notice any signs of implantation, you might be feeling it. You might be able to test this weekend and get an accurate result, but you'll have a much better idea after 10th.

Hello. Today is September 3rd and yesterday I noticed a light brown discharge once. Today I went to the bathroom and I went to feel my cervix and it is quite light brown. My period is supposed to start a week from today on the 10th. I usally spot a couple days before but not a week. It's really too early to tell if you are pregnant since you would only be about 10 days. It's possible that the bleeding you had was implantation, but the only way to tell for sure is to wait it out for a few more days. Good luck.

i experienced some spotting yesterday and today again, i had my last period on the 30th and it ended on the 3rd, i noticed that my ovulation took place around the 18th and 22nd, today is the 28th, and i saw some blood, my cycle is usually around 31-32 days, could i be pregnant, please advise as i am trying for a baby with my husband.

Sandra, do you suspect that you are pregnant or have you taken a pregnancy test? I'm not exactly sure what your question is about. You may have just spotted for a day and then gotten your period.
