i am 31 years old, i have a 3 year old boy already, my husband who is 34 and i have been trying for another child for over 6 months now and i will love to have twins, 1 boy and 1 girl so it can be my last pregnancy. i have loved twins since i was a little girl, an aunt of mine had twins and i helped her look after them mostly by myself till they were grown and since then i have fallen in love with twins.

Hello everyone! I just wanted to leave a comment. please don't take it harsh. as a mother of 3, two of which are fraternal twin boys, I hope you all take careful consideration in making the decision to try and conceive twins. twins are absolutely a double blessing but they are also a lot of hard work. please ask yourself, "do I want twins because they are just so cute?" if this is the reason then perhaps you should contemplate this decision further. are you emotionally and physically ready for 1-3 hours of sleep at night while maintaining your regular daily activities(especially if you already have children) are you ready to take care of two sick babies and comfort two screaming children at once? are you ready to frantically chase one child while the other runs in an opposite direction towards the street? will you be able to catch two children from smacking their heads off the ground when they start taking their first steps? are you financially prepared to buy 2 cribs, two carseats, 2 high chairs, double the clothes, double the food, on top of the roughly $100.00 a month in diapers and wipes? there are just so many things most people wouldn't think of that greatly impact everything. even going out into public- you would be surprised how personal people want to get in your life. I usually add an extra 10 minutes to each trip I make to answer little questions from a dozen or so people. because everywhere you go, people will ask innocently "oh are they twins? how do you do it? are they busy? how did you tell them apart? what are their differences?" to the more abrasive "did you do in vitro?" "what position were you in when you conceived?" to the absolutely disgusting comments like "how do you do it-i would have aborted one" are you ready to not knock some ones lights out for comments like that? please do not misinterpret me. twins are amazing you will receive double the love, laughs, hugs, kisses, joy, play, bonding, unforgettable moments and happiness. but it is hard work-exhausting sometimes. can you give 100% of yourself to each child? just something to also think about. as of how I conceived them- sorry no idea! they just saw two heads on the ultrasound!

Wanttwingirls, both the yams and folic acid should be a regular addition to your diet, they're not things that you would take on a certain day to increase your chances. Having twins in your family does increase your likelihood to conceive them yourself.

When do you take the Yams? and how long? as well as the Folic acids? i am 31yrs old and i have 5 sets of twins on my mothers side. I want to know how good my chances are.
