Coley,

this is actually a pretty common question that I get, but unfortunately I can't really offer any advice. Check out our Pregnancy FAQs section: Who's the Daddy? for more information.

My LMP was on the 01/08/09, i had two partners at the time and had sex with one between the 8/08/09 till 20/08/09 and had sex once with the other on the 24/08/09. Is it possible for the conception date to be the 24/08/09 which is outside the ovulation period. Help!

Enter,

you probably conceived around August 4, which lines up with your last period starting on July 21. This can be off by a few days, but it should give you a rough idea of when conception happened.

i was wondering . i am due on 27th april 2009. when did i have sexual intercourse? does conception mean the day u got pregnant ? coz my lmp , give and take would probably be on the 20th 21st july 2008. i was trying to figure out i got pregnant before my period or after.

Kevin, it can be off by a few days, especially if you are considering conception to have occured based on when intercourse happened. If, for example, a woman had sex on the 15th of the month, she might not conceive until the 17th if that's when she ovulates.

got a ? for you in the ultrasound it said 8 weeks 4 day can be off by 3 or 4 day

Penny, if there is no sperm present from the one man, the one who does ejaculate would be most likely to be the father if conception occurs. There is often, however, some semen that is introduced to the woman's body during sex even if the man didn't ejaculate.

If a woman has sex with two men and one ejeculates and the other doesnt, who has the bigger chance of producing?

Sarah, I don't really know how long it would take for the HCG to leave your system, but I think it should be gone by now. If you haven't already, give your doctor a call.

I had a m/c and d/c on June 20. It is now 7 weeks later and have not gotten my period. Also, home test comes out positive, but I don't know if that is normal for post d/c or not? Any thoughts?

-- Contributed by: sarah

Michelle, with your period on March 3, you likely ovulated around March 17. But there are many variables that determine who could be the father, so I'd only be guessing if I tried to give you an answer. Only a DNA test will tell you for sure.

I don't know how many times I've driven myself crazy about this question. Thinking about it constantly and stressing myself out. My ex husband and I were having problems after our divorce. We ended up dating off and on. I started my period on the 3rd of March. Lasted until the 7th. My ex husband and I ended up having unprotected sex on the 11th and he "came" inside of me. Things were rocky between us, and I did something bad, started spending time with a guy I was interested in on the 15th, and actually had sex on the 16th of March. But, it was protected. On the 16th, My ex husband and I had unprotected sex again. On the 18th of March, I ended up having sex with the other guy again, but it was also protected. The first time we had unprotected sex was 28th or later. I'm currently 19 weeks and 2 days. When I found out I was pregnant on the 4th of April, I was 4 weeks and 5 days. My ultrasound on the 24th of April was 7 weeks and 2 days. My due date is December 9th, 2008. If my conception date was on the 17th, it's possible that it's my ex husbands since we had unprotected, correct? Because I know sperm can live for 72 hours. I'm very confused and all I want to do is be able to pin point this down to where I can have some sort of reassurance, since my ex husband and I are currently trying to work things out. Any help would be nice, thankyou.

Anna, it's unlikely that a woman would get pregnant during her period, but it happens. A woman's body could ovulate irregularly or ovulation spotting can be confused with a period. For more details, read Can You Have Your Period and Still Get Pregnant.

Bluebelle, with your due date on October 15, you likely conceived around January 23. This can be off by a few days but should give you a general idea.

Is it possible to get pregnate on the last day of you period?

-- Contributed by: anna C

i need help finding a conception date my due date is October 15......is there anyway to find out when it was?

-- Contributed by: bluebelle24

Curliescue, do you remember what your due date was? Since your first trimester would have ended around October 29, you should have conceived around August 20. This could easily go several days in either direction.

I need help with finding out my date of conception PLEASE! i miscarried at 14 weeks on nov 12,2007 i don't remember the date of my last period i would like to know can you help me?

Katie, taking the morning after pill can affect your next period, making it either later or earlier than usual. If you haven't already done so, you should take a pregnancy test to find out if you are pregnant. With your last period starting on 4/23, you should have ovulated around May 7, making it unlikely that you would have conceived during the party.

You will need to get retested later for STDs as they can show up months after coming in contact with them, but it's good that you have already been tested once.

hey everyone, I'm going through a very very difficult time. on april 30, 2008, i went to a party that my boyfriend didn't know about. i passed out and a friend of mine told me that I had sex with some guy I didn't know. I went to get a morning after pill on may 2 and tested for stds. Me and my b/f have been having unprotected sex for about two years and I have not got pregnant. we still continue to have unprotected sex and have actually been wanting a baby. however it is now june 9 and have not yet had my period. My last period started on or before 4/23/08 and ended 4/27/08. I'm very scared to find out if I am or am not pregnant. my gut tells me I am. please someone help!

Dee, with the first day of your last period on 4/27, you should have conceived around May 11, although that conflicts with the dates you had sexd. It's possible that your last period was actually heavy spotting due to implantation bleeding or that you ovulated later this month.

As your pregnancy progresses, your doctor might adjust the estimate about how far along you are based on the size of the baby.

Lisa, the calendar I use lists the conception date as April 10, but that's with a regular cycle. In your case, you would ovulate a few days sooner, so your conception date might have been around April 6-7.

-- Contributed by: HollySwanson

Good day,

I am trying to figure out my date of conception based on my last period date of 03.27.2008 (first day of last period). My cycle is 23 days; can you help?

-- Contributed by: Lisa

Sarah, figuring out exactly when you conceived is difficult for most women. With your period on July 26, you would have ovulated and conceived around August 9. But maybe the bleeding around the 6th was related to ovulation.

Like I said, in many cases it's hard to figure out a conception date. In your case it's even harder since your cycle was irregular. SOrry I couldn't be more helpful.

-- Contributed by: HollySwanson

Diamond, you will probably need to base your conception date on your ultrasounds. Since you have irregular periods, it would be difficult to figure out the date based on that. Your doctor might be able to provide you with a better timeline based on how far along you are.

I recently found out that i may be pregnant and want to estimate my date of conception. I usually get my period once every TWO months so how would i calculate this?

Renee,

there are a lot of things that can affect your conception date...it's possible that you ovulated late, which made you conceive later that you thought. Talk to your doctor about your concerns and why you believe you conceived in September.

-- Contributed by: HollySwanson

I had a question my doctor says that my conception date is oct.5 but i am sure it is sept.14 and i have had implantation bleeding could he be making a mistake because now i am worried and when i went to my ultrasound she said that the baby was measuring 17 6/7 weeks so does there always have to be a two week adjustment?

-- Contributed by: Renee

Tammy, I believe your conception date is the date when the embryos were implanted since that is when the pregnancy started. The date when the eggs were taken out doesn't matter much since they can be held for a long time before being fertilized and put back in a woman's uterus.

-- Contributed by: HollySwanson

What if we conceived through in vitro? We know that the date the eggs were taken out, and the date the embroys were put in. Do you go from one of those two dates to determine how many weeks, or do you use the same last day of the period method?

Hi Beth, according the numbers they gave you at the ultrasound, I estimate that you conceived around August 17. I would guess the bleeding you had on August 20 was implantation bleeding or it could also have been some early pregnancy-related spotting.

Depending on when you ovulated, you could have conceived over a number of days. So, you may have had sex as early as August 14 but conceived a few days later.

Hi, I got an ultrasound on September 29th 2007. During this they said I was 43 days or six weeks and one day. I know for sure I had a period on July 23rd, and may have had one on August 20th. I was not for sure that was a period or implantation bleeding. Please help me, I would like a better idea as to when I conceived.

Hi Amy,

as I mentioned over on the Conception Calendar page, I'm going to have to defer this answer to your doctor. I don't know if the due date they gave you was for a full term pregnancy or if that's the due date they expect since twins go a few weeks earlier.

Your doctor should be able to estimate the due date and conception based on ultrasounds. Good luck!

My due date is set in march 30 2008. I am having twins. When did I concieve? When should I expect to deliver?

Hannah, with an estimated due date of October 18, I count back to the week of January 24 as your conception date, give or take a few days.

-- Contributed by: HollySwanson

hi my due date is oct 18 by the measurement for the baby.. i was wonderin if i concieved in the end of dec.. or JAN! or beginning of Feb...can someone else me!!! i got my 20 weeks ultrasound may 29th!! and i was considered 20 weeks 3 days.....HelP Me!

-- Contributed by: ...Hannah...

Hi Inez, congrats on your pregnancy. It's hard to determine an exact date for conception, especially without knowing your cycle and if you are regular. But if you were 5 weeks on May 10, I also count back to the week of first or second week of April as your conception date. It doesn't look to me that you could have conceived in March.

-- Contributed by: HollySwanson

I went to the doctors on May 10th and found out that I was 5 weeks pregnant and that my estimated due date is January 15th, 2008. I was told that I concieved the baby on april 9th or sometime during the second week of april, I just want to make sure that I did not conceive the baby in march. Can you please assist me?

-- Contributed by: Inez Martinez

Ashley,

Well, 14 weeks back from July 25 would be about April 18, so I can understand why you are confused as to how the conception date calculators say May 4 is your conception date. However, ultrasound estimates should typically provide a more reliable estimate of fetal age than online calculators. An online calculator is assuming that your periods are very regular, which is not the case for many women. In addition, even if you are regular, you may not be ovulating on a standard 14 day cycle.

On Wednesday July 25 I had an ultra sound that said my babies were 14 weeks old. I am wanting to try and figure out when my babies were made. I am due Jan. 23 and all of the calculators say my conception date was may 4, I just want to make sure it is not before April 7. Can you help me?
