I just took 5 of the equate tests just to be sure so yes they are still on the market. And 3 read pregnant and 2 gave me no result.
-- Contributed by: JessicaI used this test in 2007, it's the one that told me I was pregnant with my daughter. I didn't have any problems wiht it. I tested and in 4 weeks went to the doctor and confirmed I was at the time 8 weeks pregnant. I have tried many test, this is the only that confirmed my pregnancy. I may have tested too soon with the others, but for the price this one was very reliable. I am currently trying for number two, I have tested with 2 1st response, and have gotten both negatives. It's been four weeks since my last period, I should have started by now, but I haven't. yet I've got two negative test. So I think it's whatever test has worked in the past, and whatever test tell's at that time your pregnant.
-- Contributed by: AshLauren,
I just checked too and couldn't find it. They were about $3-4 for one test. Maybe they've been taken off the market because of all the false readings. I've seen a lot of other websites complaining about them too.
-- Contributed by: HollySwansonSo, how much is it exactly? The Walmart website doesn't have it listed.
-- Contributed by: LaurenAny result (positive or negative) is void after 5-10 minutes. You tested positive. If you still need to confirm make a doc appt
-- Contributed by: KateTiffany, you'll need to test again. Usually any line means you are pregnant, no matter how faint line it may be, but since yours faded so fast, there may have been an error with the test.
-- Contributed by: HollySwansonI took an blue dye equate that I got at walmart. I followed the directions and almost instantly saw a big fat positive. Blue line in both test and control window. However over in about the next 5-10 minutes the test line faded away....I really can not see the what was "positive" result anymore. Does this mean it is a negative after all???
-- Contributed by: TiffanyMiamor0716,
any line counts as a positive, no matter how faint. Since you've had conflicting results, contact your doctor for a Blood-based Pregnancy Test, which will give you a better idea of what's going on.
-- Contributed by: HollySwansonI have taken two equate early result tests that are supposed to be compared to first response, and have had two VERY faint positives appear, but another brand says negative, so that leaves me very frustrated and wondering if I really am pregnant or not. I did read the leaflet to see what i'm supposed to look for, and i saw it barely, so who knows!
-- Contributed by: miamor0716Romenzone,
the second window, the square one, is the control line. Your results of either a plus or minus should appear in the first window. If you only had a line in the second window and nothing in the first, you will need to take another test.
-- Contributed by: HollySwansonThe equate test i took last year had a + sign to indicate pregnant. When I took one today there was a -, so i assumed it was negative. When I looked at the box later today i saw that a line means pregnant. The line in one box just indicates that its working- the other line means prego. They really should display what to look for in bigger print on the box!!!!
-- Contributed by: OregonMom2bei got a line in the second window is tha pos or neg
-- Contributed by: romenzoneChanel, any line in the results area of a pregnancy test counts as a positive, no matter how faint it is. If you only saw the line after an hour or so, it might be an evaporation line, but if it showed up right away, it's positive. If you doubt the results, you should take another test and follow up with your OB/Gyn.
-- Contributed by: HollySwansoni would like to know if the line has to be dark or if i can barely see it for it to be positive???
-- Contributed by: chanel harperSandra, good luck! As you can see from some of the other comments on this site, there seems to be a lot of false positives on Equate tests. Hopefully your doctor will be able to give you a definite answer.
-- Contributed by: HollySwansonShannon,
sorry to hear about your problems with Equate. Keep in mind that LoveToKnow is an information-only site, we don't not have any connection with Equate or any other pregnancy test company. If you want to make a complaint directly to the Equate company. A phone number I've found for them online is 1-616-673-8451.
-- Contributed by: HollySwansonI took 3 equate pregnancy tests and they came back positive, then I took 2 answer tests and they came back negative. I made a Dr's appt so I shall see what they say.
-- Contributed by: SandraPregnancy Issues my husband and I have been trying for three years to have a baby. Recently we opted for an IUI procedure, tested at home on a Friday w/Equate Brand, got a positive test, YES! Then went to the doc for confirmation, negative test, WHAT!?!? Tested Saturday with First Response brand, negative test. Tested Sunday with the Equate Brand again, positive test again. Tested Monday with First Response again, negative test. We called the doctor and asked what the heck was going on!?!?! They had me come in for another blood test that same Monday morning to see what my qualitative test is showing. That test came back negative, I feel pretty confident the doctor is right nothing like riping my heart out thanks for getting my hopes up Equate! I will never use another Equate product again!!!
-- Contributed by: Shannon - Green Bay, WIIsabel,
since you are unsure of your second results, you should take another pregnancy test. Make sure you are taking it on or after the day your period is due since this will have the most accurate results.
-- Contributed by: HollySwansoni took a test and it came up negative then i took another one and it didn't work so i still dont know if im pregnant
-- Contributed by: isabel myersMegan, I had several people complain the Equate tests. I've been told that you can often find name brand home pregnancy tests at dollar stores. They are the same quality, but are close to their expiration dates. You might find them to be more reliable and just as inexpensive as the Equate test.
-- Contributed by: HollySwansonI bought the 3 pack of equate pregnancy tests (with the purple cap) my control line to show i ahd done the test right apeared in a thick pinkish purle line as was supposed to, but the little view circle with the results was so faint i couldnt even see to tell if it was negitive or positive, i am still unsure, if i hold it ever so perfectly in the light i can see a horizontal line but im not positive if theres a diagonal one or not, i am very dissapointed.
-- Contributed by: Megan ByersJennifer,
we are an information only site and do not make or sell the Equate pregnancy test. Usually, there is a phone number on the test where you can call with your comments or you could always try taking it back to the Walmart where you purchased it.
-- Contributed by: HollySwansonI bought a 3 pack pregnancy test UPC code 81131 92854 and when i used the first one the whole thing turned the dark purple. I only peed on it for the 10 seconds that the directions said to and i waited he 3 min to get the results like the directions said to. I spent my money on a product that is messed up and i would like either another pregnancy test or my money back. and if i'm not given what i am asking for i will never buy your product again and i will inform others not to buy it either.
-- Contributed by: Jennifer MillerMisty,
basically, it means you'll need to take another pregnancy test. I'm not sure if you had a positive result or not, the test might have been invalid. There are many reasons that you could also have a faint line on the test, but only a third test will let you know for sure.
-- Contributed by: HollySwansonI took the equate test and one came negative and one came positive i think. The T line only shows the top and then fades. What should this mean
-- Contributed by: MistyBridget, the Equate pregnancy test should have an obvious plus or minus sign in the results window, but it sounds like your's is invalid for some reason. You will need to take another test or contact your doctor.
-- Contributed by: HollySwansoni took a equate test and in both windows it had 2 lines....not the + sign but = in both windows. what does that mean??
-- Contributed by: BridgetBethany, your doctor may be using a test that is more sensitive than the Equate test, though most doctor's offices use a standard over-the-counter pregnancy test. Wait a few more days and try testing again at home if you want, but if the doctor says you're pregnant, you probably are.
-- Contributed by: HollySwansonI took the Equate pregnancy test twice once yesterday and once this morning and both got negative results. However, on Thursday I took one at the doctor's office and it was positive. I am 4- weeks post-partum and am confused on how soon Equate really picks up. The doctor's test had a really faint line so I'm wondering if Equate's test isn't picking it up w/ the low levels!!! I'm confused!
-- Contributed by: BethanyGina, I have read that the Equate tests with a while cap may detect a pregnancy earlier, so a woman could get a negative result using a purple cap test but still get a positive result with the more sensitive test. In your case, however, you should have been able to get a positive result since you have missed two periods. The difference in the test sensitivity would only matter for a women who is testing in the first day or two of a missed period.
If you still think you could be pregnant, try using a different pregnancy test or contact your doctor for a Blood-based Pregnancy Test.
-- Contributed by: HollySwansonJust took an equate pregnancy test this morning and I got an invalid result. Which is not what I was expecting since this is my second missed period. I have been reading different colored caps show different results. Mine is a purple cap. I had symptoms for two weeks last month and with in a day or two they were gone.
-- Contributed by: GinaMommaMia, you're right, it was too early for you to be testing, so you could still be pregnant. You might want to try using the First Response Early Result Pregnancy Test since it's valid four days before your period is due.
-- Contributed by: HollySwansonOkay, so it's either way too early to test, or I'm not prego this cycle; hopefully it's just too early...
-- Contributed by: MommaMiaI'll be taking a test here shortly. I am at approximately 7 days post ovulation, LMP was 06/29/08. I know it's early, but I've had positive results (x3) with Equate tests before at 11 days post ovulation and I was indeed prego, but unfortunately miscarried at 7 weeks 4 days.
I'll be back to let ya know (if anyone is even listening anymore) ;)
-- Contributed by: MommaMiaTerri, if the result didn't show up for an hour, it's more likely that you are seeing an evaporation line, which is giving what looks like a false positive. You will need to take another pregnancy test but read this one in the first few minutes.
-- Contributed by: HollySwansonHey, I took a test today and after 1 hour I have a postive result. Should I go by this or not.
-- Contributed by: terriHi Davina,
typically a faint line means you are pregnant, but since you didn't see a line on the other test, you may not be. You will need to take another test and make sure you read the results in the first few minutes. Sometimes an evaporation line can show up after 10 minutes that might seem like a faint line.
-- Contributed by: HollySwansoni took one of ur test and ther is a very faint verticle line in the resalt window then i did another one the next morning and that one doest have that line . am i pregnant or not ?
-- Contributed by: davinaAmber, the Equate test usually has an image on the test itself explaining how to read it, but in case your's doesn't, a solid line in the first window means you are pregnant. No line in that window means you are not.
-- Contributed by: HollySwansoni just took one of the equate tests... um one problem i threw out the box and now i dont know how to read it... PLZ HELP
-- Contributed by: amberAngela,
you should retest on the day your period is due or trying using the First Response Early Result Pregnancy Test, which is accurate four days before your period is due. It sounds like the plus indicates you are pregnant but since you tested early there is a greater chance of it being a false result.
-- Contributed by: HollySwansonOk, I know I took the test 3 days before my missed period. My results are + sign in the circle window, but the horizontal line is very very light pink. Is that a positive or should I wait 3 more day and retest?
-- Contributed by: AngelaWillMissy, getting a result other than the ones the test directions mention means you have a bad test and should disregard it. You'll need to test again but I'd recommend that you use a different brand pregnancy test.
-- Contributed by: HollySwansonOk, in the circle window, it should be a + sign if you are pregnant. What if it's just an up/down line? It says a side to side line means no so what is an up/down line?
-- Contributed by: MissyMegan, sorry to hear the test didn't work for you. Seven inconclusives is pretty high...did you get any result on them or did the test not work?
-- Contributed by: HollySwansonI have bought several of these tests. I feel that they are the most cost efficient and for that sole reason, and the exceptional ratings i bought at bulk. I am trying to get pregnant and testing frequently is a must. i bought 10 tests in total. only 3 came out negative, the other 7 inconclusive. Like the end window will show no line. I am very disapointed. i will not purchase or recommend this product to anyone.
-- Contributed by: megan lavoieI just bought and tried one and it didn't show anything at all. i wouldn't purchase this again
-- Contributed by: cThus far, equate tests have only ever "not worked" for me once. I've taken about 5 thus far and I have gotten clear results most every time. The one time it didn't work, it didn't give any response at all. I will most definitely be sticking with this brand. It's affordable and effective. One word of advice: don't try to pee on it directly. Use a cup and it will work a lot better.
-- Contributed by: Lisai already used them.
-- Contributed by: juliai also bought two of the three packs. they suck! you cant hardly read them and its very unclear they barely work. i would not reccomendd
-- Contributed by: JuliaAmber, thanks for letting us know. Please take them back to Walmart and ask for a refund. All products are bound to have a few duds once in a while, but that's too much. When you return them, get a better brand like EPT or Fact Plus.
-- Contributed by: HollySwansonI Bought Three Of These Test And Every One Has A error it doesn't hardly show the result and i think im pregnant i will never buy one again
-- Contributed by: AmberI Bought Three Of These Test And Every One Has A error it doesn't hardly show the result and i think im pregnant
-- Contributed by: AmerWorst test ever! I bought the pack with 3 tests in it...and I have taken all 3 and none of them worked. So I am still waiting to see if I am pregnant, because these tests did not at all do what I was hoping...they should be taken off the market.
