Chantelle,
your period can be pretty irregular for a few weeks or even months after stopping the pill. But if you think there is a pretty strong chances that you could be pregnant, you should take a pregnancy test. Since you don't know when your period may be due, test again about a week later if you get a negative test result.
-- Contributed by: HollySwansonhey i was just wondering if anyone knows how long after you have stoped taking the pil that your period starts up again? i stoped taking it 1 or 2 weeks ago because their is a good chance i could be pregnant but am not sure when to tell that my periods late.
Imelda, although kidney infections can be a problem, they usually occur later, well after you would know for sure. I suspect this infection isn't necessarily related to pregnancy, but that doesn't mean that you are not pregnant.
Not having a high enough hCG is the leading cause for a false positive on a pregnancy test, so maybe you are and just can't tell yet. Wait a few days and test again, or have your doctor due it when you have your appointment.
-- Contributed by: HollySwansoni am 5 days late with my period. I tested my urine with a urine dip stick and it appears that i have a kidney infection (im a nurse). I have tested negative for pregnancy. I am never normally late and my cycle is like clock work. I feel very sick and have a high temp. I followed the instructions of the test very carefully. Is there any chance that the hCG is not high enough to detect pregnancy as i know that kidney infections are commom in 40% of pregnant women. I am due to go to my doctor but i just want feed back, can anyone relate to my story.

implantation bleeding usually wouldn't last for six days, but most women can get a reliable pregnancy test about 2 weeks after conceiving. Since your period is due next week, you can take most tests a few days before it's supposed to start.
-- Contributed by: HollySwansonI think i'm experiencing implantation bleeding, but i'm not sure. I've been spotting for 6 days, it comes and goes. Just when i think its stopped, it comes back. My period isn't supposed to be til next week. Am i possibly pregnant? when can i test?
-- Contributed by: JessicaStacy, pregnancy tests should be used the day your period is due, so even though you have a longer cycle, you'll need to wait to have an accurate test.
When your period is late, it's because of the pregnancy hormones in your body, which is what the test looks for. Until you have enough of that to make your period late, you won't get a positive test result.
-- Contributed by: HollySwansonSam, since your period isn't late yet, you are probably testing too early. Most over-the-counter tests are accurate until the first day of your expected period.
If you don't want to wait, the First Response Early Result Pregnancy Test can be used four days before your period is due.
-- Contributed by: HollySwansonIf my period cycles are 32-33 days is it to early to take a pregnancy test on day 28? I took one and it said negative but I'm not suppose to start for another 4-5 days so is it to early or am I more than likely not pregnant
-- Contributed by: stacyHi,i did a early pregnancy test,i did 3, one came up with a very little positive line, but the other two where negative, im due on my period in 4 days, shall i just wait to see if i get my period? ,i been getting a lot of discharge and cramps, i have 2 children already feel the way i did when i was pg with them, but i always found out around 4/6weeks gone
-- Contributed by: SamKate, since your period is definitely late, you are probably not pregnant. Most tests are accurate the day your period is due, so you should have been able to get a positive test result by now. If you are bothered by the missing period or have other symptoms, you can call your doctor, but they will likely tell you that you just need to wait for your period to start.
-- Contributed by: HollySwansonI missed my period a week and a half ago, I've taken three pregnancy tests, but they all came back negative. What's next?
-- Contributed by: KateKristie, you can take another test right away, but I'd give it at least a day. If you conceived later than expected, you might not have enough HCG in your system to get an accurate reading. If you take another test and it's negative, you are probably not pregnant.
-- Contributed by: HollySwansonRose, you should see your doctor to confirm a pregnancy. It's possible that you are pregnant but conceived later than you expected, which could explain the unclear results on the tests.
-- Contributed by: HollySwansoni took a pregnancy test 5 days after my missed period got a negaitve result how long should i wait to take another test?
-- Contributed by: kristieLMP 7/4/08 normal cycle every 22-25 days. Took 2 urine EPT Preg test 8/4/08 both showed positive after about 20+min.Took EPT Digital Test this morning after 5min showed Not Pregnant.Input/Advice???
-- Contributed by: RoseP., I'm not sure what type of pregnancy test you are using, but you should usually get a plus or minus sign, not a band of colors. It sounds like your test might be faulty, so you should consider taking a different one.
-- Contributed by: HollySwansonmy home test results showed a band of colors on both test and control regions instantly but after 3 min test region color bands disappearedand control region remained
-- Contributed by: p venkatakrishnaNina, with your period on March 14, you would have ovulated around March 28. It's typically 2 weeks after your period. You can take most pregnancy tests on the day your period is due but the First Response Early Result Pregnancy Test works as early as four days before your period is due.
-- Contributed by: HollySwansonhow do I know when I am ovulating? The first day of my last period was March 14th.
When is the earliest I can take a pregnancy test?
