Michelle, according to the Implanon website, period irregularities are one of the most common side effects. I would wait a few more days and test again. You might not get a period at all this month and it might continue to be irregular while you are on Implanon. If you prefer to have a regular cycle, your doctor might be able to recommend a different birth control method.

I got the implanon a month ago and I should have started my period a week ago. Before the implant I was on birthcontrol pills. I took an ept and it came back negative. Any advise?

Allison,

since you are on the pill, your period should be regular and it's unusual to miss one, especially this late. Since the test was negative and you waited long enough to take it, you're probably not pregnant. If you don't get your period this month, contact your doctor, who may want to run some tests to see if anything else is going on that could have made you miss it.

I should have started my period about 3 weeks ago. I took the E.P.T. pregnancy test this evening, and it came back negative. I still have not started my period. I'm on birth control: Ortho Tricyclen Lo, and have been for the past 6 years. I have never missed a period, but I also don't have any of the pregnancy symptoms. Any ideas on what can cause you to miss your period, when you are NOT pregnant?

I took the ept test when I found out i was pregnant with my first child and I just took it again and it said pregnant again. I trust this brand.

Brooke, a pregnancy test can be taken any time of the day as long as the urine isn't too diluted. To take a test later in the day, weight a few hours after emptying your bladder to give it a chance to fill back up. If you take the test and get a negative, test again the following morning.

I didn't take my prgnancy test in the morning, & I'm over two weeks late. How much does the time that I take the test really effect the results?

-- Contributed by: Brooke

Steffie, yes, you tested too early. Most pregnancy tests can be taken as early as the day of your expected period. There are some brands, like the First Response Early Result Pregnancy Test which is accurate from four days before your period is due, so you should either try using that now or test again on the 25th.

My period is due on Oct. 25. I took the test today, Oct. 21. It was neg. I have had major pregnancy symptoms. Did I test too early?

Saen, the book symbol means that the test is invalid. You will need to take another pregnancy test.

ok i tuck the teas n a lil book came out wat is that

Amy, you'll need to test again with a newer pregnancy test. Some women see an evaporation on a pregnancy test after it has sat for a while, and it's possible that's what you are seeing. Take a newer test and read it exactly when the instructions indicate.

Sad, women's bodies can do different things for no real reason. Although you missed your period, you could easily go right back to a regular cycle next time. Your doctor might be able to prescribe something to get your cycle moving and force a period.

I have already last thursday. she told me again everything seemed fine. I've been regular for 12 years, how could I just suddenly skip my period for 4 months and everything be fine? and I didn't think you could concieve without having a period?

Sad, with all of those tests, you probably aren't pregnant unless you conceived recently. Follow up with your Ob/Gyn and let them know you still haven't gotten your period.

I haven't had my period since mid june but the five pregnancy tests have came back negative. I went to the doctors at the beginning of august and she gave me a pap smear took blood gave me sonograms and sent me to an obgyn, still they found nothing wrong with me. in fact she told me I should be getting my period within a few days, its been a month and couple of days and I still haven't had my period. I'm confused. idk what could be wrong. what should I do??

Your results should display as either a plus sign or minus sign. The plus means you are pregnant, the minus means you are not.

Hadasa, please speak with your doctor or see a counselor if you are having a lot of "bad days." Perhaps you are suffering from anxiety or depression.
