Annonymous, it really varies from woman to woman. For many, it will stop until the very end of pregnancy when you may notice discharge as the beginning signs of labor. If the discharge continues, mention it to your doctor to make sure you don't have an infection.

Sarah, anytime you have pregnancy symptoms and doubt the results of a previous pregnancy test, it's always a good idea to retest. Some of the symptoms you mention can be some of the early signs of pregnancy, but they could also be a sign of PMS or the flu or a combination of several things.

i recently found out i am pregnant probably about 7 weeks now. i have this white milky discharge and i no it is normal. i was just wondering if it stays through out the whole pregnancy or if it stops at some stage?

Hi, I have been overlooking many sites and im getting basicaly the same information in regards to my situation... let me explain. My fiance and I have been trying for over a year to conceive, we are both 27 and no luck yet... however, The last period I had only lasted one day and it was barely anything light pinkish and only when I wiped (no need for a pad). I waited 3 days after that and took a hpt which came out negative but I have a few un-explainable symptoms that I have never experienced before ie: increased discharge (milky white) and lots of it!, Acne (which I have never had in my life & headaches. Now my friends tell me that if I was pregnant I would know I would "feel" different, well I don't feel any different at all other than the abnormal symptoms which I have never had before. Could pregnancy be an explaination? should I test again now? or just wait it out and see if I miss my next expected period? please give me some advice I've never been pregnant b4 so I have no idea what to expect. thank you

Having trouble...,

the first you should do is take a pregnancy test. Most doctors will recommend that you take one even before they see you, so that's the first place to start. Some of the symptoms you mention do sound like they could be early signs of pregnancy.

Crystal,

since you tested before your period was due, it might be a false negative from taking the test too early. Since your period is now late, this is the perfect time for you to take a pregnancy test. The symptoms you mentioned might be related to pregnancy, although they could also be a sign of your cycle getting ready to start.

Hi, we have been trying to have a baby & I am now 1 day late. I have been having symptoms of watery white discharge, thirtiness, mild back & ovary pian & a small loss in appetite. I took a home preg. test 2 days ago & it was neg. I guess I will test again tomorrow...anyone with the same symptoms & find out they were prego?

Confused in Cali,

you do have many of the early symptoms of pregnancy, but if you haven't missed your period yet, it might be too early for you to have these symptoms. If you know when your period is due, you might want to take the First Response Early Result Pregnancy Test, which is accurate four days before your period is due.

Manjushree,

it's too early to test for pregnancy yet. Since your last period was 8/22, you probably ovulated around Sept. 5. If you conceived then, you're only a bit over a week. Most women can't get an accurate test until the first day they expect their period, in your case that would be September 19.

I have symptoms of pregnancy and I hope that I am. My visitor is supposed to arrive within the next week or so, but I've had sore and tender breasts for over 2 weeks, fatigue and have just noticed a milky colored discharge. I am so curious but it's too soon to test. :-(

I want to be pragnent, in this month i feel discharge sensession.my last date of period was 22nd aug.Can i test now my pragnency?

Sad, sorry to hear that you were disappointed. It's important to note that although discharge can be a sign of pregnancy, along with some of the other symptoms you mention, there really is no definite sign of a pregnancy before you get a positive test result.

Sorry Ladies but I had the discharge and all the signs of being prego. Got my monthly friend today right on time. Even threw up everyday for the past week, sore breasts, headache etc. so do not believe all that oyu read. I was very disappointed.

Jennifer, you may have tested too early if the last time you took a pregnancy test was two weeks after you had sex. Two weeks is the minimum amount of time it takes to get a positive on a home pregnancy test. Since your period still hasn't started and you have some of the other symptoms, take another pregnancy test now or call your doctor.

AK123,

since your cycle is irregular, it's hard to know when you ovulated, making it even harder to determine if you could have conceived. Many women do develop yeast infections during pregnancy, so you are right to follow up with another test soon if your period doesn't start. Monistat should be okay to use, but definitely check with your doctor.

I have white milky discharge, and I have missed my period for three months. I have had sex, three months ago, and has felt a little bit of breast tenderness, frequent urination, and increased food cravings. Also, ive been very tired, and moody. I did take a pregnancy test after a week from having sex, and came negative, i waited one more week and it was negative also. Im having no pain, no bleeding. Im concerned. Any thoughts?

-- Contributed by: Jennifer

one more question, since pregnancy isn't determined, if i am pregnant, could monistat be a bad to use?

-- Contributed by: AK123

okay. so first, my cycle is always irregular. my fiance and i have unprotected sex. my last cycle started may23rd, so as of now i'm over 2 weeks late. he has ejaculated inside me 2x, before and after my expected cycle (approx 6/24 and 7/1). i took a pregnancy test yesterday and it came out negative. i've noticed increased white discharge. first a few little ones that looked like pieces of toilet paper. then more. odorless. i was really itchy for the past 2 days i looked up yeast infections, and i think i might be beginning to develop one so i bought monistat, which i'll start tonight. the itchiness has gone down on it's own, and the discharge is a lot creamier. i'm going to wait to take another test in a week if i haven't started my cycle. and i scheduled an appt w my obgyn. also. i've increased my exercise a lot in the past 2 weeks, and this isn't the first time i've missed a cycle or been late when i change my physical exercise pattern. any advice? am i on the right track? i'm leaning towards an infection and reasoning the late cycle on increased exercise.

Emily, since you are late, yes you could be pregnant. Discharge is also an early sign of pregnancy, so you should take a pregnancy test if you haven't already done so.

Jessica,

anytime you have unprotected sex, even if you are using the withdrawal method, you could conceive. Women with regular cycles are most fertile about two weeks after their period, so you have a greater chance of conceiving if you had sex then.

The symptoms you mention could be early signs of pregnancy, but they could also just be related to PMS and the stress you are under. On the day of your next expected period, you should take a pregnancy test. Good luck.

I am 3 days late, and now I notice this really white milky discharge, am I pregnant?

I am only 13. I had unprotected sex, but I know he didn't ... in me. The only problem is, he had ... on his penis, and he stuck it in me. Now I have cramps, but it is no where near time for my period. I feel bloated. It's only been about two weeks, or maybe a little less. Is it too early to be having symptoms? And I have been discharging a lot more lately.I've also had diarrhea for the past week or so. Could I be pregnant?

-- Contributed by: Jessica

Sky,

it's unlikely that you would conceive during your period, but if you did, it's still too early to take a test and get an accurate result. Since your last period was May 10, the soonest you should take most over the counter tests is June 7. Women's bodies can work differently and you might have had an unusually early ovulation, but the chances are pretty slim.

i had my period on may 10th of 2009 and i had unprocted sex on may 13th and he had ...med in me thinking that you can get pregnant on your period well any way for the last 2 weeks i have been have alot of lower back pain and also a clear slimy white discharge ive have taken a home pregancy test but it came out neg i had call my doctor to make a app. so i can see if am pregant or there something else going on

Dee Dee, if you took a pregnancy test within a few days of having unprotected sex, it would definitely show up negative even if you have conceived. A test can't be positive until your body has enough time to produce a measureable amount of HCG, which usually takes two weeks after conception.

If you know when your next period is due, you can take the First Response Early Result Pregnancy Test four days before that date.

This is really helpful. we are trying for the baby & I was little worried about increase in viginal discharge. But it is really difficult to wait for right time to take preganacy test. Till now I haven't seen any other symptom than viginal discharge and back pain. After reading this article I became happy that may be I am pregnant.

Terra,

discharge is one of the early signs of pregnancy, but unless you take a pregnancy test you won't know for sure if that's the cause of the discharge. Some women also have thickening of mucus when they ovulate, so if you have an irregular cycle or are just having an off month, it could be from that as well. Since you did have intercourse during your most fertile, it is a possibility of you being pregnant.

Okay, ii just have a question. may be kinda weird but oh well, i'm curious & worried. I'm 18 year's old & Well almost 2 week's ago, my boyfriend had ...med in me on two ocasions. on the 20th of Febuary & on the 26th or 27th of Febuary, ii cant really remember if it was past midnight or not, so0o ii was just bored one day an wanted to look up the times ii was ovulating you know, from my last period. ii cant quite remember if ii started the 13th the 14th or the 15th, i'm more than sure it wasnt the 15th though, so0o ii searched & it turns up, on the 13th and 14th my ovulation day's were the 26thh & 27th, it says most fertile for one, & very fertile for the other. an "time to ovulate" well he has ...med in me before & nothing has ever happened. but i'm never one to get dischrage, just never have been really. & now all of a sudden i'm getting alot, not every single day, but about 3-4 times a week its on my underwear an kinda a big amount. its white & kinda thick. ii have no burning or itching. am ii pregnant/?

Sehz, doctors usually don't consider a woman to have problems with fertility until she has been trying to conceive for a year. Make sure your doctor is aware that you want to conceive. Depending on your age, your doctor might want to try you on Clomid. That's usually one of the first medications doctor try to help couples conceive, but there are other medications that they can try.

Ash, if you haven't already had a prenatal checkup, now would be a good time. Your doctor will be able to tell you if you have normal discharge or if it's a sign of something like a yeast infection that needs to be treated

-- Contributed by: HollySwanson

I don't know whetehr it's normal or not because i'm not more than 3 weeks along and i have a milky white discharge and a mild smell...hmmm...
