it can be either. Some women go right back to a normal cycle after stopping the pill while other can take a few months. The symptoms you mention can be some of the early signs of pregnancy, but they are pretty early to occur if you are pregnant. Since you stopped the pill mid-cycle, I suspect that your body is just going through a lot of changes as it gets used to the change in hormone levels.

Hi there, I used to be on Microgynon, had a period sept 13-18 but stopped the pill on the 23rd, then i had a period oct 7-12, and had unprotected sex with my bf from oct 13-18, the time where the ovulation calender says I'd be ovulating.

Now i having all these signs, cramping on my left side ( lasted about 3 days)nausea (lasted 5 days initially but still happens once a day), lightheaded (2 days), sore nipples (still ongoing), my appetite is increased , weight gain, MOODY!!!.

Can this be the effect of coming off the pill? Could I possibly be pregnant? please please help!

Danielle, unless the period you had on 10/19 was Bleeding During Ovulation instead of a real period, you probably didn't get pregnant on October 18. With a period on 10/19, you should have ovulated and conceived around 11/2.

But, that doesn't seem to match up with the timeline given to you during your ultrasound. I calculate you being 11 weeks pregnant. You may want to talk to your doctor about this difference or ask for more measurements in an ultrasound.

the 1st day of my last cycle was Oct. 19. I had an ultrasound today saying i was 9 weeks 4 days pregnant. Is there any chance that i got pregnant by having sex on Oct. 18th.

Kino, most women ovulate two weeks after their period, so that would put you around October 23. That's the time you will be most fertile and could potentially conceive.

You might want to try using an ovulation predictor in the days leading up the 23 so you know get a better idea of when you ovulate.

i have my period october 09 it is possible conception day will be on october 20-21

Sharon, do you have estimated due dates for your babies or know when your last periods were? It's easier to figure out a conception date with that information.

27weeks on 3rd of june when would baby of been conceived also sis is 11 weeks preg tommorrow (4/06/08) what date would she of conceived?

Emma, with a due date of 7/11, you probably conceived around October 20. But that doesn't line up with the dates you mentioned. I can't really give you any more specific help, but check out our Pregnancy FAQs section: Who's the Daddy? for more information.

i am due on the 11th of july 2008 and it is between to people who could be the dad my last mestral period was round bout 6th oct 2007 i slept with one of the males of the 4th and the other on or around the 12th oct2007 could u please tell me when i would of conceived .

Amanda, I used a conception due date calculator and also came up with the first week of August, probably around August 1, as your estimated date of conception.

I was told by my doctor on november 14th that I am 17 weeks pregnant. my estimated due date is april 23rd, when did I conceive? my doctor tells me the first week of august..how accurate is that?

Hi Amy,

I'm going to have to defer this answer to your doctor. I don't know if the due date they gave you was for a full term pregnancy or if that's the due date they expect since twins go a few weeks earlier.

Your doctor should be able to estimate the due date and conception based on ultrasounds. Good luck!
