I have tried several different chinese calenders and they have been 50/50. they obviously have no truth to them at all. do not depend on them to predict the sex of your baby.

I checked the chinese calendar for both of my children and unfortunately they were both the opposite. I also checked the calendar for my moms six children and they were also the opposite.

I did not believe in such calenders, but amazingly when verifying the accurrance, it seemed that all our 6 kids (boys and girls) were conceived in the right periods indicated by this Chinese chart. Even more surprising was the fact that it also worked for most of our close relatives and friends. Now we're trying for no.7 and it would be interesting if this time the calender proves to be right again :) best regards from Europe, C.T.

right, after her birthday in April, you will need to follow the chart for her age at that time. Please keep in mind though that this chart is by no means an exact science. You could wait until the right month and try to conceive then but still not get the gender that you are hoping for.

TxJalapeno, I can't really say. That's just the way it is, I guess. Who ever put this together and translated it for Westerners went with the standard calculator.

Your best bet is to read our article How to Conceive a Girl. I think that timing sex according to the Shettles_Method is your best bet. You'll also find some theories about supplements and diet that may improve your chances.

So....If you use lunar months, why does the chart not use lunar months? I'm confused. We are doing everything possible to have a girl (after 3 boys) and need help. Missy, your lunar age is 31, which is what the calendar above goes by. You can try for a girl in February and April.

As for why there are so many calendars, it may be that some people interpret the chart differently than others. Keep in mind that this is only a guide, it's not a definite way to conceive a particular sex.

Raji, the month of conception is tricky. It's based on when you ovulate, which generally occurs two weeks after your period. So a woman who has her period on October 1 would ovulate and conceive around October 14, making October her month of conception. But if she got her period on October 20 and ovulated and conceived around November 3, her conception month is November.

Based on her birthday, your daughter was conceived around March 22, but since she was early, it might have been April 1. Sometime between those dates is when conception occured.

Janet, it's a little more complicated than just adding two years, but that's a good way to start. The year you are born counts as the first year and then it has to do with when the Chinese New Year falls each year, which is usually in the winter.

All my children I have had were correct. I have 3 kids and this chinese calender was correct in determining the sexes of all my 3 kids..

Bonnie, our article states that this is a gender predictor that is "supposedly 99 percent accurate." The only way to be 100 percent sure of your baby's gender is to deliver. Many people have found this be an accurate way of predicting their child's gender.

Sorry Chinita, the calendar only begins at age 18. But this is really just a guess, a doctor's ultrasound is your best bet at finding out the gender.

I would say the chinese lunar calendar is just for fun in trying to determine the sex. In my case I really want to have a second baby as a girl. we tried following this chinese calendar when conceiving to match a girl, but to no avail. I was born april 1977 and conceived sometime in August 2007,from the chart it should be a girl but it was a healthy baby boy born april 2008

Amitojha, if your wife's cycle is regular, she probably conceived around March 1 meaning that she would have a boy based on the chart above. But, that's really more specific than the calendar should be taken. She just as easily could have conceived on February 29. You'll have to wait for more conclusive results from an ultrasound or blood test.

Ravi, since your wife is 23, she would conceive a girl this month according to the calendar above. You'll know in a few weeks if she is pregnant and an ultrasound can then let you know for sure what the baby's gender is. Althoug many people say this chart is accurate, it's not a guarantee.

Vinitha, that's a tough one since you are pretty close to the end of the month for your conception date. If you conceived in December, which is most likely since you should have ovulated around December 29, you will have a boy based on the calendar above.

But, if you ovulated a bit late or conceived after January 1, you will have a girl. Keep in mind, though, that this isn't a guaranteed system.

a women conceives during her ovulation, which is typically 14 days after her period. So if she had her period on January 10, she would conceive around January 24. This can vary for a day or two depending on when she actually ovulates and when she has intercourse.

any tips for starting labor or trying to reduce the pain should be implemented around the time you are ready to give birth. So you would try eating kiwi and mango to start labor or have intercourse in your ninth month, right around your due date.

As for trying to conceive a boy, some woman say that taking Guaifenesin tablets in the days before you ovulate can help you have a boy. But you should talk to your doctor before taking any medications.

there are many things you can do to stay healthy and prepare your body while you are Trying to Conceive. As you begin trying to get pregnant, make sure you are following a healthy diet and cut back on alcohol consumption (this is also when women who smoke should quit). You should also visit your OB/GYN for a checkup and pap smear.

Once you do conceive, check out our articles about Walking and Labor Induction, Lamaze Techniques, and Water Birth for ways to assist your labor. Nipple stimulation, intercourse, or even certain foods like tropical fruits and red raspberry tea can reduce the pain of labor.

As for your other question about sex and health, there's no reason not to be having sex as often as you want as long as you and your husband are both comfortable with it.

Abi, according to the chart, both a 22 year old and a 23 year old would conceived a girl in December. In January, when you will already have turned 23, you would conceived a boy. This isn't 100 percent accurate though and there really isn't a full proof way to dictate the gender of your baby.

Hannah, since you just turned 36, you're best chances to conceive a boy is in December, February, and March. The Chinese calendar says you will conceive a girl in January, so you might want to take that month off from trying.

i have just used the chart to see if i am due a boy or a girl. According to this i am due a boy, as i am not due until the end of november i will have to wait and see if this turns out to be accurate. I also tried it out for my 5 year old to see what this came back and it was accurate for her. This is encouraging as my side of the family have only had girls and NO boys in 4 generations. Hi! I did the math on this for myself and brother (using my mom) and it worked 50%. I also figured the math for my boyfriend and his brother and it also only worked 50%. So basically I don't think this is truly 99% accurate. None of these methods are! I think only God can really determine the sex of our babies! Good luck!!

This calendar was 100% accurate in predicting the sex of both my girls!! Pretty cool! My girlfriends and I all used the chart to see if it was accurate for our children and our siblings. And it was about pretty accurate. It was correct for 4/7 of our kids and 2/10 for our siblings (including ourselves).
