Cory, from what I've read, you should still be getting a period while on Camila as long as you are taking the pills as prescribed. If you are missing your period, give your doctor a call or take a home pregnancy test to make sure you aren't pregnant.

While being on Camila, is it common to not have a period?

Stephanie, although the birth control is highly effective, there are several things that can cause it to fail. Highest on the list is not taking it at the same time every day or missing a dose. Take an antibiotic can also interact with the pill and make it less effective.

Kimber,

it's never normal to have a period last for two months. Call your doctor right away and let know about the bleeding and any other symptoms you might be having.

I'm on the camila birth control, and I've had my period for 2 months straight now. It started a week after I took the pills. Is this normal?

Smitchell, yes, you would normally have a period during the last week of pills, which are the inactive ones.

Jan, most studies show no effects pased along to a breastfeeding baby from the pill but it can cause changes in the amount of breast milk that's produced. Talk to your doctor if you have concerns or would like to use a different form of birth control

Can Camila birthcontrol pills cause any side effects to the baby if your breast feeding?

SNC, like most pills, it's possible for you to still ovulate during the first month you are taking it, so while it might prevent you from ovulating that first month, you should use a backup form of birth control until your second month on the pill.
