the second line indicates that you are pregnant, no matter how faint it was. You should wait a day or two and take the second test. The line will probably be darker then since the HCG level will have had more time to increase.

Kim, the Answer brand, like most tests on the market, is highly accurate. If you doubt the results, you should encourage her to take a different test. Either way, she should follow up with her Ob/Gyn who will also test to comfirm a pregnancy.

My son's girlfriend took one of these tests today and it came up positive. What are the chances it could be a false positive?? I have never used this brand before and am wondering about its accuracy.

Fact Plus, on the Answer Pregnancy Test, one line means you are not pregnant, two lines means you are. If you took a different test than the Answer, you may need to find one like it at the store to compare your results.

Confused, it's possible that you could be pregnant but that you ovulated and conceived later than expected. Wait a few more days and test again. You might also be experiencing symptoms that are just related to PMS or an abnormal cycle.

I'm around 9 days late for period,my brest are tender and im avin sum symptoms that i had when i was pregnant with my daughter, i've taken 3 test and they all came back negative,

the symptoms you mention can be related to pregnancy, but they could also be from the flu or some other bug. Eight days before your period is really too early to take a pregnancy test. The First Response Early Result Pregnancy Test is accurate four days before your period is due, but if it's negative you will likely want to test again to be sure.

I had unprotected sex with my boyfriend right after my period like twice a day for almost 3 weeks. I always thought that after your period was the least fertile and it happens to be the most fertile. I have been sleeping everyday like normal schedule with included approximately 5 hour naps during the day and waves of nausea at random times especially at night. I woke up this morning with some cramping in my lower back (not sure if related or not) I am hestiate to take a test but I wanted to see if taking the test tomorrow would be too early since I am not expected to have my period for 8 more days. I want to know but then I dont. Is this normal signs of pregnancy or could it be eliminated by unrelated factors?

Sunshine, yes, you're pregnant. Even if a line is faint, it still indicates the presence of the pregnancy hormone, which you will only have if you are pregnant.

If you doubt the results, take another test or see your doctor for a Blood-based Pregnancy Test.

my period supposedly was due in may 24 but until now i havnt have my period yet...and i took i pregnancy "answer" test it's two lines one was dark and one was faint?am i pregnant?

even when a line is faint, it still means that you are pregnant. You may be testing too early or using urine that is too diluted to get stronger results. Try waiting a few more days or contacting your doctor for a Blood-based Pregnancy Test.

Kelly, you might be seeing an evaporation line, which is not the same thing as having a positive test result. Usually, any line means you are pregnant, even if it's a faint line. In your case, you'll need to retest or see your doctor for a Blood-based Pregnancy Test.

I took two of these tests, the first came up with both lines but the first was kind of faint. The second test, you can sort of see two lines, but only if you really look, it is almost indeterminable. What does this mean?

Tia, you may have had a false positive or it could be an early miscarriage. [Pregnancy Bleeding]] can sometimes be a normal part of pregnancy, but you're right to follow up with your doctor.

it's unusual for any over-the-counter pregnancy test to detect nine days before your period is due. But, it might mean that you ovulated much earlier than typical. Generally, any positive result means that you are pregnant, but you're doctor will know for sure.

I took the pregnancy test which came out positive, two days later my period started. I'm going to see my doctor this week just to make sure its not ectopic.

I took the test yesterday, which would have been 9 days before my period is suppose to come. It came back with 2 lines one lighter than the other. I just have been feeling different and thought i may be pregnant and thought I would take a test. B/c it came back with 2 lines and it is before my period does that mean I am preg? Kris, two lines means you are pregnant, regardless of how dark they are. If you have reason to doubt the results, you should take another test or call your Gyn for a Blood-based Pregnancy Test.

I took the test and one line came up dark pink and then another line came up and it is pink but it is lighter than the other line. is this normal, can one line be lighter than the other? Does it mean I am pregnant?

Shay, although not as common as false negatives, there is a chance of getting a false positive on a pregnancy test.

Kaila, the lighter line might just be a variation in the particular test you used. If you don't trust the results, test again or give your doctor a call to have a Blood-based Pregnancy Test.

Well like julie one line was a little faint but the other wasn't..but instead of it being the line furthist away it was the one closest to the urine dip that was darker?

The line closest to the urine dip was very faint, but I got two lines each time and it was 4 days before my missed period. Hopefully it doesn't turn out to be an early pregnancy that ends in a period. That is the only downfall of having a positive test so early...

Kelly, two lines mean you are pregnant, but it is the line further away that is the control. No matter which one was darker, the double line is positive result.

I took an answer pregnancy test and the line closest to where you pee was dark pink in a second and then the line furthest from where you pee was a faint pink in 1 minute. Which line is the control line and which shows you are pregnant?

Meg, if you saw a pink line in the results area, you are probably pregnant even though the line was faint. I don't know why the second line didn't show as well, but that's not the one we need to be concerned with.

If you doubt the results, you should take another pregnancy test or see your doctor for a Blood-based Pregnancy Test.

i took the "answer pregnancy test" tonight and you know how theres two lines? well if you are, well if your not pregnant the test will show one line on the Right side... farther away from where ur post to pee at lol, well i took it and it showed a pink line on the left side "closest to where ur post to pee" then i saw my pee kept going and there was a faint line on the right side... but only half of the line showed up... So what does that mean?

Emily, I'll have to suggest that you take another pregnancy test. Two lines typically means you are pregnant, but if it took more than 3 minutes for the second line to show up, it might be an evaporation line or error on the test.

Britney, were all of the tests the same brand? Different pregnancy tests detect different levels of HCG, so if you used different brands or types of tests, you might have had a more sensitive one during the first test.

You might want to use the First Response Early Result Pregnancy Test, which is sensitive enough to give an accurate result four days before your period is due.

Hey i took a pregnancy test because i feel pregnant and i have had a miscarriage and i want to be very careful this time around. the first test i took there was definitely a line but it was somewhat faint. the second and third ones look like there are lines but i am not 100 % positive and if there is they are very light. i would be very early in my pregnancy if i am so i am very nervous about this. i dont know what to think or believe so if someone can give me some advice that would be very awesome

Kamila, if you feel like you have to "work at it" to see a line, there may not be much a line at all. A faint line still means that you are pregnant, but you might also get an evaporation line if you are reading the test too long after it's been given.

Bottom line, wait a few days and take another test.

Hi,I have just done test.One line its very very red and there is a little shadow:) on the another like.And I know that its written that second line it can be lighter.,...but tell me please: It can be really light that you need to really look to see it?Or its just my hopefull thinking?

Jeseil, a pregnancy test should be taken around the time your period is due. It's not based on when you had sex with someone.

Lynette, getting too much urine on the stick won't make much of a difference. Getting too little urine could give you a false result, but if you left it in longer it shouldn't matter.

Darra, the Answer pregnancy test is pretty accurate. Pregnancy Test False Positives are pretty rare, but they can occur if someone is taking certain medications.

the test should be blank before you use it. If there's a line already showing, you should disregard the test and use another.

Strange question, but when you purchase an Answer Pregnancy test, is the window blank with no lines to start out with or is there a single line on it to begin with.

if you are referring to the Answer pregnancy test, yes, 1 line means not pregnant. Different test go by different methods, though, so sometimes a line can mean "pregnant" if that line is in the indicator window. But in the Answer test a single line is a negative result.

Zoe, when you are far enough along to start noticing the signs of pregnancy, you should be able to get a positive result on a home pregnancy test, so if you haven't already done so, take the test.

But, leaking breasts aren't really one of the typical signs of pregnancy. Breasts usually only leak after giving birth or if you are breastfeeding. If your test is negative, you should contact your doctor anyway about the leakage.

hello there i had taken the test because my breast are leaking clear liquid and are warm and sore.ive been having heart burn and nausa within this past month.but i was wondering since my hormones are low will that cause for the test to become neagative.

Two lines means you are pregnant, no matter how faint the one line is. It shows that you have the pregnancy hormone hCG in your body and that only shows up during pregnancy.

If you doubt the results, you should retest. But it sounds pretty definite to me.
