I am about 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 weeks late on my period. I haven't noticed anything changed! I feel abit bloated and getting more headaches lately... I have a 4 year old, so you would think that I would know if I were pregnant.

do you think that you conceived six days ago or have you noticed these symptoms for six days? If you just conceived, it would be too early for you to sense a beating heart since a fetus' heart doesn't start beating until at least 2-3 weeks after conception. Some of the other symptoms you have can be related to pregnancy, but again, it's really too early to tell. When your period is due, you should take a home pregnancy test or see your doctor.

I feel that I am pregnant since 6 days. My stomach is tightened and enlarged a bit. I could not bend as usual. I have dizziness and kinds of pregnancy symptoms. My nerves are interestingly vibrating. I could sense the (heart) beatings abnormally in my stomach. My tongue shows no taste and I have an increased apetite. My food habit is also changing. My body, back is paining often, but only for a while. please can anyone advise on this?

Jazz, since you are over two weeks late, you should be able to get a positive test by now if you are pregnant. But, if you have an irregular cycle and could have ovulated late, you might not be able to get an accurate result. Wait a few days and try testing again.

you likely wouldn't notice big changes in your stomach for at least several weeks into a pregnancy. Although it can be part of pregnancy, it's not an early sign. By the time your stomach is changing you should already know that you are pregnant.

since I'm sure some of the semen spilled out, you could become pregnant. It's not a huge chance, but you should take a pregnancy test when your next period is due. Next time, make sure your boyfriend is putting the condoms on all the way and that it fits snuggly.

me and my bf had sex using a condom but when he pulled out it stayed in. we looked for it but didnt find it till i thought maybe it was in me so when i felt in there i grabbed it out. some of the symptoms you mention can be early signs of pregnancy but they could always be related to hormones from missing the pill. If you are pregnant, it's probably too early to get a reliable pregnancy test. Wait a few more days and try testing again. In either case, you should follow up with your doctor to talk about your symptoms.

I would appreciate any help! I am on the mini pill so do not have a period, however, I did forget to take my pill a few times. I have sore boobs, and my nipples have small spots on them. I am more tired than usual, constipated (sorry!) and had a few brief headaches. I did a HPT today and it came negative.

If I was pregnant, I would estimate only being 2 maybe 3 weeks max. Is this too soon to do a test and what do you think the chances of me being pregnant are?

I am feeling anxious and dont know if I cant wait a week or so to test again. I would go to my GP for a blood test, but for some reasons would prefer to go to her when I have a positive reading. So, feeling alone and not sure and would really appreciate any thoughts. Thank you very much

if you had unprotected sex in the last few months, it's possible that you are pregnant. Most early signs of pregnancy don't occur until you are far enough along to get a positive pregnancy test, so it's definitely time for you to take one. Since you're not sure when it's due, take a test now and if it's negative, wait a few days and test again.

i think i may be pregnant but am not 100% sure yet. The last time i had a period was last month an am sure that i was meant to be on a few days ago! I feel like my stomach is bloated, seem to be eating more food, very sleepy but when i actually try to sleep i find it very impossible, i cant seem to get comfortable or just even fall asleep. Yvonne, It is unusual to get your period twice in one month, especially if you usually have a regular cycle. The second bleeding might have been related to ovulation. Since you have some symptoms, you should take a pregnancy test. If it's negative, wait a few days and test again.

Hi. I took my period i week early (which i thought was quite odd?) I had no waning that it was coming (no period pains, it was just there when I wiped myself, my period did last about 5 days and was heavy for a few days of that, but the pain was minimal) 13 days later I took another period (I had small stabbing pains in my side, but nothing major, I was very surprised by that, as I have never taken 2 periods in 1 month) this period lasted 3 days was light to start, then got slightly heavier, then just stopped?? I was wondering if I could be pregnant? The only pregnancy symptoms I am having are dizzy spells, cramps and backache. Am i just imagining this?

you will need to take an actual home pregnancy test rather than relying on online quizzes. Although online tests can be fun, they don't give you a definite answer. Your symptoms sound to me like you are pregnant, but only a test will give you a reliable answer.

i have nausea, tender breast, more prominent boils on the areola,fatigue, the condom broke but my partner says that there was no way semen could have gotten inside me. i also have headaches, and yea a missed period but when i do online test they come up negative so what can be the cause of these symptoms could it still be pregnancy. i always develop water pockets when i'm preganant i have it but my guy says he thinks it impossible for sperm to eneter because he didnot ejaculate or pre... i don't nuh who to believe my body or him

Danielle, having a period right after having sex kind of "cancels out" the chance of pregnancy. I think your period is late because you weren't on them regularly for the month. Give it a few days. If you still wonder about pregnancy, go ahead and take a pregnancy test but I think it will be negative.

Well, I've found myself in a similar situation as Jennifer. I had sex on March 13th, and started my period the very next day. Although, I had also started taking Aviane/Alesse a couple days after. I've gone through my monthly pack... Just having started taking it again. And i've gone through the "reminder" pills (only two left) and still no period... Is it possible I could be pregnant?

I can't say for sure, but you are probably not pregnant. Most women conceive during their ovulation time, which is two weeks before your period is due. In your case, this would be around March 6 since your period was due on the 20th. It sounds like you had a normal period, although it was later. Unless you've had intercourse at other times this month, you're probably not pregnant.

Okay, well I am curious as to see what everyone elses opinions are on this situation. I had sex on the 15th of March, was supposed to start my period on the 20th. I had a "period" that started on the 29th of March. It lasted three days (thats the length of my normal period) I have frequent urinating, slight heartburn, fatigue. I have taken a pregnancy test, but it was negative and it was probablt too early to tell anways. what is your opinion. Am I pregnant.

since you've missed a period for several months, you would have been able to get a positive pregnancy test by now if you were pregnant. Most of the time, a woman can get a false negative if she tests too soon, but that's in the days before a period is missed. Give your doctor a call to see if they are concerned about your cycle.

Baby Lover, if you missed two pills, especially if they occured bak to back or in the middle of your pack, you may have ovulated and conceived. But, its probably be too early for you to notice many symptoms. Since you're close to your period, you could try using the First Response Early Result Pregnancy Test, which is active as of four days before your period is due.

Nise, since your last period was 10/23, you should have ovulated around November 6, so that's when you are most likely to have conceived. If you have a regular cycle, you should have been able to get a positive test result on a pregnancy test by now if you are pregnant.

If you still don't have your period, wait a few days and try testing again.

I have an irregular cycle and my last cycle was around the 23rd of October. My husband and I had sex several times during the 1st week and the 3rd week of November. Bex, sounds like you should take a pregnancy test if you haven't already. Most tests are accurate the first day your period is late and since you are well past that, any test you take should be reliable.

Hey Holly !! me and my husband TTC since last 2 months. my periods were very regular just 1 day here and there. but in aug 2008 I was 9 days early with proper periods and not spotting. now in sept 2008 i am one day late. since last few days i m having weird sensation in my tummy. it hurts on my left side sometimes. lots of gas. no nausea. and funny part is i have tender breast. though size and color wise its still the same. i never had tender breast during my PMS. i did take first response this afternoon but it came out to be negative. and unknowingly i got expired kit .. expiry on 03/2008. which i saw after taking the test. now can the expire kit show false negative result?? or was it too early to test?? and wat abt my symptoms ??

Emma, if you are testing too early--before the day your period is due--you might be pregnant but could still get a negatives on your test. If your period is already late, wait a few more days and test again. If that's still negative, you are probably not pregnant but might want to see your gyn to discuss your symptoms.

Laura, since you know you had a period on July 16, I consider your next period due date to be August 13, assuming it's regular. In that case, you can take a pregnancy test now since you are late. I don't know what the bleeding was. It might be related to ovulation or implantation bleeding but it sounds too heavy for either of those.

I have taken 2 pregnancy tests this week and both came back negative, my period is late and i have the symptoms above. could i be pregnant?? its really bugging me as i want to know.

i had my implanon implant removed on 11th july. I then had a regular period on 16th july lasting four days. Then a week later i experienced an abnormal heavy bleed which lasted around a week. i went to see my doctor about this and she gave me some acid pills to decrease the bleeding and pain and said i would have my period as normal as that was not a normal period. Since then i havent bled or anything. I have started to feel sick every day with being sick and have an increased appetite and have gain a slight amount of weight, but now my breasts are getting increasingly sore. I dont know if it is possible that i could be pregnant. i havent done any tests as i am unsure whether i will not be on until another week or so if i count my heavy bleed as a period. I have had some stomach cramps but no bleeding. I have sex on a regular basis as me and my partner are trying for another baby. could you please give me some advice and your opinion on this. Thanks

BJ, Pregnancy Test False Positives are rare, but they can happen, especially if you are on certain medications.

I agree that you should take another pregnancy test and see your doctor. The signs you mention are some of the most common signs of pregnancy. That, along with the pregnancy test, makes me believe you are pregnant.

i took a pregnancy test this morning and it was positive but i cant bee too sure because i know there can be false positive readings. i have had the following symptoms: mood swings swollen and sore breasts weight gain tiredness loss of appetite hot flushes.. i am only 18 and i dont know what i should do...is it possible i am going through unusual PMS or could i be sick....either that i could be pregnant i have been told to consult a doctor to talk about my options and do the test again in a few days... what do you suggest??

Claire, if you are consistantly getting negative pregnancy tests, you are probably not pregnant. But if your stomach is swollen and you are not getting your period, you should contact your doctor for a check-up.

Jessica, since you are getting more than one negative pregnancy test, you are probably not pregnant. If a woman misses her period due to a pregnancy, she should have enough HCG in her body to get a positive test result. There are a lot of other things that can cause a late period like stress, illness, or medications, so please follow up with your doctor.

Shawn, have you had another pregnancy test in the past two months since the negative one you had at the clinic? If not, you should take another one. If you get a positive result, you should contact your OB/Gyn to begin prenatal care.

If you take it and get a negative result, you should still contact your OB/Gyn for a checkup. You may have a medical reason for your missing period and stomach pain that needs to be checked out.

My boyfriend and i had sex with a condom at first than we ended up having sex without it. Before he had release any sperm he pulled out and a week later i didnt get my period. I ended up going to the clinic to get tested but it came up negative and a week later i ended up getting my period but towards the end of it, it started to thin out which wasnt normal. The following month I missed my period again. Its been 3 months now and I still havent gotten my period. My stomach hasnt been normal, when i eat my stomach starts to hurt and i get gas. Also I get cramps all over my stomach but mainly under my belly botton, somtimes my stomach gets hard than it gets soft, i sometimes have head aches, and sometimes i feel like im going to throw up and i feel it sitting in my throat but it never comes out. Can someone please help me.

Terrie, it's unusual to have a series of false negatives when you are pregnant, but you are proof that it can happen. If you are still testing negative but both you and your doctor think you might be pregnant, maybe they can give you an ultrasound?

Cheese, if you got your period after this happened, you are unlikely to be pregnant. A woman could get pregnant from having contact with a penis even without intercourse, but it's not common. If you had conceived, you wouldn't have gotten your period.

If you're unsure about being pregnant, you should take a pregnancy test to ease your mind.

Michelle, if you conceived when you had sex on May 1, you should have had a positive result on a pregnancy test by now. By the time a woman is late on her period, she has enough HCG in her system to get an accurate reading. This usually happens two weeks after she has had sex.

Assuming you only had sex that one time, you are probably not pregnant. If you had sex since then, you should take another pregnancy test to be sure.

If you are going to continue to be sexually active, please consider using a form of birth control to prevent pregnancy and STDs.

And still do I took a test 3 days ago it was negative took it 2 days ago got a faint positive took it today twice and got a definte positive both times and my period was late but my egg dropped late this months and u actually told me to wait until today to take a test and I am having period like symptoms.

Hlly, The symptoms you mention are some of the early signs of pregnancy, but they could also be a sign of PMS or the flu or a combination of several things. Since your period is late and you had negative results on your pregnancy test, you are probably not pregnant.

But, to ease your mind and reduce the chances of having false negatives, wait a few more days and retest. If they are still negative, you will probably just have to wait it out until your period comes.

I have not gotten my period yet. I run about 27 days in between each period and my lasy cycle was May 1,2008.I took a pregnancy test 3 days ago it came back negative.I took it twice, once in morning and in afternoon.(same day)I have had menstural like symptoms over the past week including cramps, bloating, SORE breast. you'll need to talk to your doctor about your symptoms. Maybe he or she can put you on the pill to keep you regular if you don't want to get pregnant right now. If you don't feel like your doctor is really helping you, try to see someone else in the practice or ask friends to recommend an OB/GYN or family doctor they feel comfortable with.

Jenna, have you taking another pregnancy test yet? If so and it's negative, and since your doctor doesn't seem to be concerned, you don't really have to worry about not getting your period right now. Unless you have other symptoms, like pain or irregular discharge, there's not much to be done. WHen you are ready to try to conceive, your doctor should work with you to get your period on track.

Heather, it sounds like you had a false positive on your first test. Since you've had two negatives since then and the doctor doesn't think you're pregnant, you're probably not. I don't know why you haven't gotten your period, but if you don't get it in a few more weeks call your doctor back again.

I took a home pregnancy test and it was positive then took another one about a week later and it was negative, so I took one more to be safe and that was negative as well, anyways I have not gotten my period or any kind of bleeding at all. I went to the doctor and they said they dont know what it could be. Do you have any clue that might help???

Jenna, there are several things that can cause irregular periods, including ovulation problems and endometriosis. If you don't want to conceive, you could go on the pill, which would regulate your cycles. Otherwise, your doctors should be able to do exams, including blood tests, ultrasounds, and more invasive procedures, to tell if you have any problems.

I took 5 tests all said positive but,5 days later took 2 more and the up and down line was there but lighter on both and it took a good 10 minutes 4 it to appear,and ept said negative?yours said positive,Does your test turn positive right after a few minutes on all tests

Georgina, a line means the test says you're pregnant, regardless of how faint it is. There are times when women get a false positive so it's always a good idea to take another test.

I was looking for a little clarification. My periods are irregular I haven't had my period since the beginning of January. My breast are somewhat tender, mainly my nipples but it seems to be going away a little bit. I feel nausea occasionally after I eat. I regularly feel bloated and not just like I usually get before my period, my entire stomach feels bloated. I have been overly emotional about how much I get before my period, maybe a little more. I've noticed an increase in cervical discharge. And I have kinda been craving food (that pickels and ice cream doesn't sound too bad about now)! I've taken a couple pregnancy test and they have been coming out negative. I just wanted to see if anyone has any advice. Could the pregnancy test have been a false-negative reading?

Courtney, leap year doesn't have any affect on your period. Although you may be having PMS-related symptoms, it might not mean that your period is coming early.

ok so its been 44 days since my last period which was 2 days long. I either have hormonal imbalances or i'm just stressed. I had morning sickness(i drank a coffee and puked), a week after being late I have sore breasts, back pain, and irritability. I'm always tired. anyways I don't know what wrong with me. my Dec period was 3 weeks late and I wasnt pregnant, my Jan period came right on time, then Feb 10 (2 weeks after my normal period ended) I had "mid cycle bleeding" which lasted for 4-5 days, I know if it lasts longer than a day, your are not pregnant. I had unprotected sex after that, but we use the "pullout method" ( I know Im stupid for that, but its worked for the last 3 years). I am on my second round of clomid the first day of my last menstrual perion was on 2/2/08 and the last day was on 2/5/08. the first day of clomid was on 2/6/08 and the last was on 2/10/08. Shauntese, since your period is late, you can take a pregnancy test and get accurate results. Not all women experience morning sickness, although the breast changes you mention are among the early signs of pregnancy, but they could also be a sign of PMS or the flu or a combination of several things.

Sammantha, it sounds like your cycle hasn't come back to normal yet after being on the pill. It can take a while, up to six months in some cases. Do you use ovulation predictors? Since your cycle isn't regular yet, you can't rely on figuring out your ovulation schedule based on the typical 14 days after your period, but a predictor might help you pinpoint.

I haven't had a period since 12/17/07. I notice my breast changing which is heavier and swollen with dark green veins apperaing which is noticeable. I'm not having any morning sickness at all that's why I think I'm not pregnant. Can somebody give me advice please.

Hi, My husband and I are wanting to have a baby. we have tried the last 5 months., Nothing yet. I have been off birth control for about 5 months too. Is there a chance that by only being off birth control 5 months i still can't get pregnant. Because I know there are some people that get pregnant even being on birth control? I have all my ovulation days pinpointed and when im most fertile and we usually have sexual intercourse the day i start being fertile and i have cervical mucas and have sex everyday until i don't. Are we doing something wrong. i missed my period by 10 days last month. and now im 8 days missed again. Still haven't started it yet. Is my cycle changing? Because 41 days for a cycle seems like a long time. They used to be 27 days apart before birth control, on birth control and the past 3 months after it now it's all wierd? Could i be pregnant even though i have taken 2 pregnancy test's saying negative? one the day of my missed period and another yesterday. Both negative... We really want to raise a family. Help :(

Lou, since your period is late, you should take a pregnancy test. If it's negative, wait a few days and retest.

since you are late, you should take a pregnancy test. Missing your period is one of the first signs of pregnancy so it is possible that you are pregnant.

My boyfriend and I have been having unprotected sex for about 3 months now and he gets off in me everytime. I'm 12 days late for my period. What are the chances of me being pregnant?
