Is Nicole Kidman Pregnant?

If you follow your celebrity gossip, you may be wondering, “Is Nicole Kidman pregnant?” Since ex-husband Tom Cruise first grabbed the spotlight with announcement of Katie Holmes’s pregnancy, the baby rumors have been flying.

Actress Nicole Kidman, best known for her work in films such as Moulin Rouge and Eyes Wide Shut, is allegedly pregnant. Speculation began after Nicole was photographed in January 2006 speaking to her parents while country music superstar Keith Urban lovingly patted and stroked her stomach.

Although Nicole and Keith have been careful to keep their relationship and whether Nicole Kidman is pregnant under wraps, those closest to the Australian couple say they make a perfect pair. In a December 2005, actor Russell Crowe, a close friend of Nicole, was quoted in Britain's The Sun newspaper as saying, "I've spoken to Nicole a couple of times recently and it was clear she's enjoying great happiness right now. Hanging out with Keith is giving her a lot of joy and I'm happy for her."

Nicole’s Second Chance at Love

Nicole and actor Tom Cruise ended their 10 year marriage in August 2001. Although Nicole was seen with musician Lenny Kravitz and American billionaire Steve Bing after her divorce, she often claimed she wasn’t interested in marrying again. In an interview with NOW magazine, she said. “I don't want to sound like a woman from a lonely hearts club and I don't want to advertise. The children are my priority.”

Nicole and Keith first met at a January 2005 gala dinner in Los Angeles. Keith was coming off a romance with model Niki Taylor. Despite his reputation for excessive partying and womanizing, Keith and Nicole seemed to develop an immediate connection. Fans were soon speculating that Keith would be Nicole’s second chance at true love. In the months that followed, Nicole and Keith were seen together at an NFL football game, shopping, jogging, and visiting Keith’s family in Tennessee. Nicole was also a fixture on Keith’s "Keith's Alive in '05" music tour.

The Newest Addition

Nicole’s been notoriously tight-lipped with the media, so it’s unlikely fans will learn many details about the newest addition to her family. However, sources close to Nicole claim she’s due around the same time Tom’s fiancée, Dawson’s Creek actress Katie Holmes, is expecting her baby.

This will be Nicole’s first biological child, although it’s not her first pregnancy. Nicole Kidman was pregnant and suffered a miscarriage in 2001, just months after her split from Tom. Nicole, who had always hoped for a biological child, was devastated by the loss.

As the mother of two adopted children, Nicole’s no stranger to the demands of parenthood. Daughter Isabella, 12, and son Connor, 10, were adopted during Nicole’s marriage to Tom. Their adoptions started rumors that Tom was infertile, an allegation he steadfastly denied.

Will There be a March Wedding?

According to family and friends of the couple, Keith proposed to Nicole between Thanksgiving and Christmas 2005. In January 2006, People magazine published a photograph of Nicole sporting a lavish 3.5 carat diamond ring during a Boston shopping trip with Keith.

According to the latest rumors, a pregnant Nicole Kidman will marry Keith in March 2006. There’s no word on the official location for the ceremony, although it seems Nicole would prefer to marry in Australia. However, their wedding will be a private affair for close family and friends.
