Rumor Mill Grinds After 2008 Grammys
Wearing a stunning blue dress by Arthur Mendonca with draped material across the stomach, Nelly Furtado attended the 2008 Grammys only to be hounded with pregnancy rumors after photos from the event came out. Between the loose material across the abdomen and unfortunate posing, rumors were flying within days of the event.

Another possible contributor to the pregnancy rumors may be that Furtado has donned a fake pregnancy belly in order to do a guest spot on CSI: Miami while in Los Angeles.
Rep Denies Nelly Furtado is Pregnant
On February 14, Star Magazine ran a story claiming that a source says Furtado is “. . . not very far along yet, so she’s trying to keep the pregnancy under wraps.”
However, Us Magazine reported that Nelly Furtado’s representative denies the singer is pregnant. Despite the denial, it may come to be that Furtado is pregnant and wants to keep up the impression she is not. Several stars have recently tried to hide their bulging bellies, including the twin tummy Jennifer Lopez was clearly sporting long before she confirmed her pregnancy.
Although Furtado has kept mum on the pregnancy rumors after her initial denial, the gossip mavens still think she has a little secret. Perez Hilton’s celebrity blog has a video of a recent performance given by Furtado in Chile with her looking somewhat larger than the average celebrity. However, given the camera angle and again, loose clothing, it is impossible to say if she is pregnant, gained weight, or just a victim of circumstance.

Is Nelly Furtado pregnant? She may or may not be. Regardless, she will let the world and her fans know the news within her own time. Although some celebrities, like Halle Berry and Marcia Cross, are open about their desires for a family, others prefer to keep things private. Of course, that doesn’t always happen, such as when Paris Hilton let Christina Aguilera’s pregnancy news slip.
Pregnant celebrities frequently wait until there is no denying that they're expecting. Whether or not Furtado is waiting to confirm is yet to be seen. For the moment, she and her rep deny pregnancy allegations.
