Is Jennifer Lopez Pregnant?
Is Jennifer Lopez pregnant? No one seems to know for sure, but fans are certainly having fun speculating.
According to various sources, here are some signs that Jennifer Lopez is pregnant:
- She appeared at the Alma Awards with visibly grey roots. Many pregnant women stop dyeing their hair for fear the chemicals will harm the developing fetus.
- Although she’s known for her amazing physique, Jennifer’s recently been seen around town with a bit of a belly. Even the most dedicated fitness fanatics can’t hide a baby bump!
- She canceled her first concert tour with no explanation. Much of J.Lo’s professional success has been attributed to her exceptional work ethic.
- Husband Marc Anthony recently told reporters, “I’m looking forward to starting a family.” In January, he was even seen purchasing a Guy's Infant Gear diaper bag for $120 at trendy L.A. boutique.
Despite all the telltale signs mentioned above, none of J.Lo’s representatives have publicly confirmed her pregnancy. However, if Jennifer Lopez is pregnant, she won’t be able to keep it a secret much longer. Most rumors have put her due date around Christmas 2006.
Mommy in the Making
Although hubby Marc Anthony already has three kids with ex-wife Dayanara Torres, J.Lo has her own dreams of motherhood to fulfill. Sources close to the couple say Jennifer’s mothering instinct grows stronger by the day. In fact, friends believe she’d rather have a baby than win an Oscar or a Grammy!
In a 2004 interview, J.Lo said, “I've always wanted a family of my own. It'll be my most important project. There's nothing more important to me than a family--it's a sacred thing. I really want to be a mother. God will bless me when the time is right."
During an Elle magazine interview in 2005, J.Lo reportedly grew defensive when asked how she felt about Ben Affleck’s baby with Jennifer Garner. When J.Lo and Ben were still a couple, there were rumors she planned to become pregnant as soon as they became engaged.
Jennifer’s Fertility Troubles
In 2001, Jennifer was diagnosed with a thyroid condition that would complicate her ability to conceive without medical assistance. At the time, she was married to backup dancer Cris Judd. It was later rumored that J. Lo was using the fertility drug Clomid to become pregnant.
Although J.Lo turns 37 in July, she does have several options for starting a family. For example, many experts have speculated she would be a good candidate for in vitro fertilization. If Jennifer Lopez did want to become pregnant this way, using a donor egg and her hubby’s sperm would up her chances by an additional 20 percent.
Is it possible that J.Lo would consider adoption? Fans shouldn’t rule out this option just yet. At June’s Women in Film Awards, Jennifer told fans, “You know, adoption is obviously a wonderful thing.”
