Britney Spears Pregnant

Britney and Kevin, a 27-year-old former backup dancer, were married in September 2004, just months after the collapse of her 55-hour marriage to childhood friend Jason Allen Alexander. Kevin and Britney celebrated their wedding with a 10-day honeymoon at a $1,975-a-night beach bungalow in Fiji.

One Hot Mama

Since Britney claimed she always wanted to be a young mom, it came as no surprise that she was eager to shop for a new maternity wardrobe. A pregnant Britney Spears was spotted in funky fashion picks such as a flowing halter dress, a jaunty chapeau paired with a peasant skirt and cowboy boots, and a strapless minidress with UGG boots. After purchasing trendy, form-fitting attire from the Santa Monica boutique Babystyle, Britney told fans, “I find being pregnant empowering. I think it brings out a pure side of you, and I think that's cool."

While Britney enjoyed flaunting her voluptuous pregnant form, she was also pleased to have an excuse to relax her normally strict dietary regimen. During her pregnancy, People quoted her as say, "Eating for two is so much fun. I get to eat lots and lots." A pregnant Britney Spears was seen eating Wendy's chili, a baked potato, and a chicken sandwich. She’s confessed to a fondness for Cheetos and Pop Tarts. Of course, Britney’s also admitted to indulging in the perennial favorite of pregnant women everywhere—pickles and ice cream.

Welcome Little One

Sean Preston Federline was born on September 14, 2005. He weighed in at 6 lbs. 11 oz. Britney was originally scheduled for a C-section the next day, but the operation was moved up after she began having mild contractions. The birth took place Santa Monica UCLA Medical Center, with Britney’s mom, Lynn, and sister, Jamie, accompanying the happy parents.

Although Britney and Kevin opted not to learn their baby’s gender in advance, little Sean Preston came home to a nursery decorated with gifts from Britney’s Moroccan–themed baby shower. His substantial wardrobe includes deluxe fashion essentials such as a Kitson Kids cashmere sweater with a faux Mommy tattoo on the sleeve and a pair of Yo My Booties angora booties. To tote her baby’s essentials in style, Britney purchased three diaper bags from Chase's Closet – a Houston boutique co-owned by TLC's T-Boz.

What Does the Future Hold?

Sean Preston is Britney’s first child. Kevin has two children from his previous relationship with Moesha actress Shar Jackson. Sources close to the couple say Kevin’s daughter Kori and son Kaleb have taken a liking to their new stepmother.

So far, Britney appears to be taking marriage and motherhood in stride. In the October 2005 issue of Elle, she’s quoted as saying marriage and motherhood are "going to help me not be influenced so much [by the expectations of others]."
