Beyonce Pregnant

Despite the public interest in her future family plans, Beyonce has made it her policy to avoid seeking unnecessary media attention. Beyonce has refused to comment on her alleged pregnancy and any plans she may have to marry Jay-Z. In a 2005 Essence article, Beyonce tried to explain this decision to remain secretive about her personal life. "I never talked about relationships," she said. "Even in school I never did. I only talk about them in my songwriting; otherwise things get too messy. It has worked because now nobody expects me to talk about them. But it's hard, too. You fall in love and you want to tell everybody. But that's a place I just don't go."

Family Ties

Despite being a superstar since the tender age of 15, Beyonce is well-known for her close family ties and down-to-earth personality. Her mother, Tina, designs costumes for her performances. Her father, Matthew, is her longtime manager. Her cousin Angie is her personal assistant, and cousin Marlon is her road manager. In a recent Essence interview, Beyonce said, “Not everybody is blessed to have a family like mine."

When she’s not on the road, Beyonce enjoys playing the role of doting aunt to nephew Daniel Julez Smith. Daniel, the son of Beyonce’s younger sister Solange, was born in October 2004. Beyonce is often photographed playing with Daniel during Knowles family outings.

While her fans are convinced a pregnant Beyonce would make an excellent mother, the singer says she doesn’t want any of her own children to pursue musical careers. In 2004, she told Britain's Sunday Times Magazine, "I definitely would not want my kids to be entertainers. It's really hard. It's hard enough doing any kind of job and being a teenager. But being a teenager in the spotlight, it just heightens it. People pick you apart.”

The Fast Track to Success

Fans who believe Beyonce won’t be settling down for awhile say she’s got too much on her plate already. Beyonce first entered the spotlight in 1997 as a founding member of the Destiny’s Child. In 2001, Beyonce became the first African-American female artist and second woman to win the ASCAP Pop Songwriter of the Year Award. Shortly after, Beyonce turned her energy to her developing her thriving solo career.

In addition to her music career, Beyonce’s been exploring other entrepreneurial endeavors. Beyonce has appeared in several movies, including Austin Powers in Goldmember and The Birth of the Pink Panther. In November 2005, Beyonce launched her new House of Dereon fashion line, available at Macy’s and Dillard's department stores and described as affordable couture. She also has a best-selling fragrance, True Star Gold, marketed by Tommy Hilfiger. But, so far, a pregnant Beyonce is nowhere to be seen.
