Am I Pregnant Quiz

From LoveToKnow Pregnancy

If you suspect that you may be pregnant, you can take an "am I pregnant" quiz to see what your chances are of actually being pregnant. There are many such quizzes online, but most ask very similar questions.

Am I Pregnant?

If you are sexually active, you have a 20 percent chance of getting pregnant during any one cycle. While you may feel safe if you use a birth control method that is considered reliable, realize that no birth control method is 100 percent reliable.

Any "am I pregnant" quiz will base its questions on the early symptoms of pregnancy. These symptoms may indicate that you are pregnant, but they can also be PMS symptoms. If your quiz indicates that you may be pregnant, you should still take a pregnancy test to be sure.

The Am I Pregnant Quiz

If you can answer "yes" to these six questions and are sexually active, you may be pregnant.

Have You Missed Your Period?

Usually the first question of a pregnancy quiz is "Have you missed your period?" Often this is the first thing you notice that makes you think you may be pregnant. A missed period may also be due to stress, illness, or even hormonal changes due to age.

If you have light bleeding, you may be pregnant and experiencing implantation bleeding. Many women think they are having their period when they have no idea that they are pregnant.

Are You Experiencing Nausea?

You have likely heard of morning sickness, as this is a common symptom of pregnancy. However, you may also experience nausea throughout the day or at different times of the day.

You may be pregnant and have no nausea at all. On the other hand, you many feel nauseated due to food poisoning, stress, or a virus.

Have You Noticed a Change in Appetite?

If you are experiencing nausea, you may not have much of an appetite. Or you may have noticed an increase. These changes may be due to pregnancy or they may be caused by stress.

You may also notice that you suddenly crave certain foods, odd food combinations (pickles and ice cream, anyone?) or even non-food items. This may be pregnancy related or due to a lack of nutrients in your diet.

Are Your Mood or Energy Levels Different?

During pregnancy, your body undergoes many changes that may cause you to feel unusually fatigued. You may also experience mood swings or feel overly emotional. These same symptoms can also be caused by stress, depression, or illness.

Are You Noticing Aches and Pains?

Common early pregnancy symptoms include backaches, headaches, and tender breasts. These are also common symptoms of hormonal imbalance, stress, or even premenstrual syndrome.

If you are pregnant, these symptoms may go away in a few months or they may continue for the duration of your pregnancy.

Are You Urinating More Frequently?

If you seem to always have to go or awaken during the night to urinate, you may be pregnant. You may also have a bladder infection or diabetes or you may have just been drinking more than usual.

The Results

Possible

If the results of your quiz tell you that pregnancy is a possibility, your next step is to get a pregnancy test. You can purchase a home test or have one done at your doctor's office. There are several reliable home tests to choose from including EPT, Clear Blue Easy, and First Response. Keep in mind that a positive home test will still need to be verified by your doctor.

Before you test, you may want to think about what to do after a positive pregnancy test. You'll need to arrange for regular medical care for your health and the health of your baby. There are many other considerations as well. Don't feel overwhelmed, though. You'll find lots of helpful information to get yourself ready for this journey.

Not Likely

You are either feeling relived or disappointed. If you don't want to become pregnant, now is a good time to re-evaluate your current method of birth control to be sure it is effective for you.

If you are hoping to get pregnant, you may feel very disappointed. If you think you may have fertility issues, talk to your doctor. He can help you with ways to monitor when you are most likely to conceive. There may be other ways he can help you as well, so don't give up..

Nise, since your last period was 10/23, you should have ovulated around November 6, so that's when you are most likely to have conceived. If you have a regular cycle, you should have been able to get a positive test result on a pregnancy test by now if you are pregnant.

If you still don't have your period, wait a few days and try testing again.

I have an irregular cycle and my last cycle was around the 23rd of October. My husband and I had sex several times during the 1st week and the 3rd week of November. I took a pregnancy test last week and it was neg but still no period. Sometimes I think I have preg symptoms and then I think I'm just feeling what I read!! -Nise K.

Bex, sounds like you should take a pregnancy test if you haven't already. Most tests are accurate the first day your period is late and since you are well past that, any test you take should be reliable.
