I want to get pregnant

My husband is diabetic (first type) and having insulin. Can I convince the baby as we both want? We went to doctor, where we checked his sperm. We were told his sperm is week because of taking insulin. Can you help me out?

What was your doctor's advice? Did the doctor say that your husband's sperm count was too low to conceive a child? Is the sperm too weak to swim to meet the egg? Were you referred to a specialist? I don't know what your exact situation is so I can only offer general suggestions.

Depending on the problem with your husband's sperm, you can still get pregnant naturally, but the odds may be lower. I would guess your husband keeping his sugar levels under control may improve things somewhat. Eating a well balanced diet and getting all of the necessary daily nutrients can be important as well.

You also need to have sex while you ovulate to increase your odds of conceiving as much as possible. This might mean that you need to start charting your periods with basal body temperatures or using ovulation kits.

However, if you husband has significant issues with his sperm, you may have to have outside help from a fertility specialist in order to conceive. In vitro fertilization with/without intra cytoplasmic sperm injection (sperm is injected directly into an egg) may be able to help you conceive.

You need to speak with your doctor to better understand what you two are up against. Ask specifically if the sperm problem will prevent conception or if it will just make it more difficult. You should also ask if you should go directly to fertility specialists in order to get pregnant. Weak sperm could mean several things, and you need to be clear about your options.

Good luck!
