During pregnancy, you may experience some abdominal discomfort at different times which may be normal. Some women feel some cramping during implantation, when the ligaments of the uterus stretch during the second trimester, or when labor is getting ready to start.

HOWEVER, severe cramping is never normal and continued pain is never normal either. If you experience severe and continuous pain or cramps, bleeding, and fever together, you need to call your health care provider as soon as possible. For more information about cramping during pregnancy, please read this article or this article.

So some discomfort may be normal, but severe or continual pain is not. If you are not sure what is going on with you, please contact your health care provider. During pregnancy, women ask their doctors lots of questions. Don't be afraid to touch base with your doctor if you are uncomfortable with anything that is going on.

Good luck!
